With the increase in the number of online virtual worlds, many builders will want to take their creations to these other worlds without having to go to the lengths of a complete rebuild.

The OtherWorld duplicator is a cost effective LSL scripted solution which will automate this process.

IMPORTANT - The OtherWorld duplicator will only allow you to duplicate builds of which you are the Creator.

Please be aware that the OtherWorlds duplicator merely does an exact duplication of the prims in the build. You will need to do a certain amount of post processing work, eg applying textures, adding scripts, sounds animations, notecards.
It also only works on small items such as shoes and clothes. It will not work on things like houses or skyboxes.

Impressively Effective For Other Grids
full star full star full star full star full star Publicado February 01, 2011 por Insky Jedburgh

I just gave this a try. My mission: Transport two 22 prim armored boots to another grid.

Following the instructions I was able to copy prim data for my linked objects and scripts to text files on my hard drive, then copy that info into notecards and scripts on the other grid.

On the other Grid: The structure builder then rezzed the boots (unlinked) in their original form minus the textures and texture settings, with the default plywood texture instead. They assembled prim by prim in a minute or two. Now I can rework these armored boots on the other grid quickly into what the originals look like in SL. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED

You know, all of it was done using notecards full of prim data, copyable scripts, and no other file types. All this data was copied and pasted to text files in a folder on my hard drive. That's really very simple. Instructions were clear enough for me to accomplish this first transfer within 20 minutes, working slowly to make sure I did it right. To me that's pretty awesome. Next I will try shrinking down a single object, linked prim building so it is the size of my boots and transfer it to the other grid as well, then resize it back up & re-texture it there, and I see no reason why that won't work just fine.

If I copy a build with a mix of standard and sculpty prims, I will simply insert the sculpt maps back into those prims on the other grid, and it should all look the same structure wise.

So 5 stars are definitely deserved for this product. I appreciate this utility very much, thank you.

I've recommended this to all my creator friends--this tool is invaluable, especially where other virtual worlds might not support current prim item creation tools just yet that SL can. This lets you get items like prim skirts, etc. over to other grids (IF you're the creator of all the prims!) with a minimum of fuss and muss. GET THEE THIS TOOL--you won't regret it!
