The purpose of this script is to warm you and other people around in time when a sim restart process is under way. It is really frustrating when you plan an event or a party with your friends and suddenly a sim (region) restart process is triggered, destroying everything around.

HOW TO USE

- If you live on a mainland continent use the RESTART ALARM - MAINLAND box. Just drop it on your land or take the script from it and put the script into any object on your land.

- If you have a premium house (living on any of the four Premium Continents or Bellisseria) use the RESTART ALARM - PREMIUM box. Just drop it on your land or take the script from it and put the script into any object on your land.

- If you live on an estate (private-owned land outside mainland, islands), you will need to configure the RESTART ALARM - ESTATES box (see below).

- You can use ANY alarm box or script on your land, but it is better to use the correct one.

Sim restarts go in groups, a number of sims on a time. They also seem to follow a schedule. Usually, there will be another sim that will restart before you. If you can know who that one will be... you can be lucky enough to get prepared for the worse.

SETTING THE SCRIPT FOR OUTSIDE MAINLAND

- Open a notecard.
- Open world map and copy the names of a few sims (regions) around you. The more you write, the better it is.
- Write them on the notecard, one on each row.
- Put the notecard inside the alarm (alternatively put the notecard and the script inside an object).
- Make sure there is no other notecard inside.
- If you know that one sim has vanished, review the list.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Wait 100 seconds for the alarm to start its first scan. If all clear, you will see a hovering text and the object becomes green.
2. The alarm will scan 15 surrounding sims every 100 seconds. If it detects anything suspicious (a sim restart process being initiated), it will trigger an alarm.
3. The alarm memorizes when the sim it is inside has a restart. The Lindens say that restarts usually happen after a schedule. So, it will warm you when a restart is expected. This function is not available before the alarm experiences its first restart process.
4. Sometimes sims go offline without a general restart process. If that is the case, you will see red text above the object, but the object remains green.

BEHAVIOR

- The first scanned sim is the one where the alarm is in.
- Before the alarm experiences its first sim restart process (so it can calculate when restarts usually happen), hovering text will be blue, unless a restart is detected.
- When scanning, you can see white text hovering.
- If no sim is entering a restart process and no scheduled restart is expected, hovering text is green.
- If no sim is restarting but a sim restart is scheduled, hovering text is yellow.
- If a sim restart is detected, hovering text is red and contains a warning message.
- Each time a restart is detected, the object slowly turns from green to red. If no new restart is detected, color is reversed from red to green. This way, false errors can be excluded.

POSSIBLE PROBLEMS

- The script will not work in 'no scripts' areas if you don't have building and script-operating permissions.
- Make sure you don't do typewriting errors while writing sims on the notecard for estates alarm.
- Private land often changes. So, if one sim vanishes from the map and is on the list, you will get restart warnings all the time. So, try to update the list as often as you can.
- The alarm might sometimes fail if the restart process is triggered only for the sim hosting the alarm (targeted restart). The script might still detect that, but not fast enough.
