Skye Water System 1.0
Note: This set uses legacy textures. If you are looking for PBR water, please see link below.
Are you building a lake or river above sea level?
Are you building a sky box and need natural looking water?
Then this set is for you.
SKYE WATER SYSTEM is an animated mesh water which uses Advanced Lighting Model to bring realistic and natural water effects to your build when SL water simply isn't an option.
The set comprises a selection of over 30 water panels in a range of shapes and sizes. Rez these and build just like normal prims.
Each panel has a controller to allow you to choose from a range of water types.
You can control the following water settings.
WATER DEPTH
TRANSPARENCY
WAVE HIGHLIGHTS
SKY REFLECTION
RIPPLE SPEED
WAVE HEIGHT
Water types are suitable for both beach and inland pond or lake waters:
PEBBLES CLEAR
PEBBLES BLUE
CLEAR SANDY
LIGHT AQUA SANDY
LIGHT POND
SANDY POND
DARK GREEN POND
DARK BLUE POND
SIMPLE WAVE
In addition you can tint each of these water types using a range of preset water colours
You can set up individual panels or snyc all your water to the same setting with one click.
Access controls allow you to set access types to suit your requirements.
A Water Sounds Generator is also included.
PLEASE NOTE This system uses Advanced Lighting Model to achieve natural water effects and is at its best when ALM is enabled. Animation effects will operate without ALM but lighting effects like Wave Highlights will not.
Prim count
All smaller panels 4 meters to 24 meters are 1 prim (li) each
Medium sizes are 2 or 3 prims and a 64m panel is 4 prims (li)
Circular Panels require more detail - 3 to 11prims (li)
Great Animated Water!
I bought this last year and it has served me and is still serving me well. Yes, this is made up with legacy textures (meaning non-PBR) but Alex does offer a PBR Animated Water system as well.
Regarding other comments about the 'seams', there are several ways that can be resolved: Align the prims properly, place rocks or foliage over the seams, use the correct size water for the space that requires it.
I have no issue with taking a copy of the water I've placed, because I know that due to the script it will loose the settings if it's dragged-copied. If you take a copy of the water and the settings, then re-rez that copy from your inventory there won't be any drag-copy issues.
This water system is affordable, versatile and made by a top notch creator of whom I have purchased and used many of their landscaping creations for over a decade now.
Thank you, Alex for contributing your skills in Second Life!
PERFECT !
What a great water source for any area ! Easy to use and set up. Thanks !
