Designed after a piece by Jean François Oeben,
this side table, hides a mechanism that allows to release a secret drawer - Camellias, daisies, tulips, roses, lilies and narcissus in differents precious veneer woods, the sides are decorated with geometrical patterns with flowers, corners and edges are protected by bronze mounts in the rocaille style.
Profusely decorated, these mechanical tables, provided a space to store letters, writing utensils or small items of clothing such as gloves or ribbons, back in mid 18th century the necessity of a key to access these spaces, ensured enough privacy for one's belongings,without leaving aesthetics aside.

Extraordinary
As with everything else by C&G, this is an extraordinary SL realisation of a real-world pieces. It's quite amazing to walk around museums and mansions and see pieces you 'own' in the flesh. Gives me genuine pleasure. Yes, I'm easily pleased. But these pieces are worth every goddamn linden <3
