Aakash Rajendra Mali is an Indian painter born in 1999 in Vadodara city, Gujarat where he grew up. He graduated from the CEPT University, Ahmedabad in January 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design. Design schooling was a starting point to provide him an exposure to drawing and painting. Aakash Mali discovered a new visual vocabulary inspired by the Kota paintings and spent his time in Ahmedabad producing a series of works based on the motif of animals, 'The Sikar' depicting hunting scenes. While his paintings and drawings from the 'Fantasy Landscape' and 'Bird's Home' series appears to have imaginative and observational elements which invites the viewer to put together a narrative.
