Individual Oriental Rug with Multiple Resolutions

The Oriental Rugs in this collection are reproductions of examples found in the Smithsonian Illustrated Library of Antiques prepared by the Cooper-Hewitt Museum. Many of them are in museums around the country with a great number in New England.

These are adaptable in that thy can change their size and shape and their resolution can be changed to suit the owner's needs. To preserve the detail and the actual shapes and conditions of these rugs, the largest texture used is as large as can be loaded into Second Life (1024x1024.) This means that anyone looking at the details of the rug must download a texture that is almost 4MB. For a wall hanging this may be desirable, for decorating in a room busy with other textures,this resolution may not be so useful. So, using the menu option you can set the resolution of the rug's texture to be lower.

The five resolutions supplied are:
1024x1024 - Highest resolution - best image quality available, can zoom in on details - 4MB/image
512x512 - High resolution - better image quality, details are apparent - 1MB /image
256x256 - Good resolution - acceptable image, but not crisp - 240KB/image
128x128 - Low resolution - OK image but fuzzy , use only for avoiding lag - 62KB/Image
64x64 - Very Low resolution - Poor image, color splash, but fast - 16KB/image

These rugs are Modify, No Copy, Transfer.

Menu instructions:

If you are the owner, Left-click and hold the button down for 3 seconds until the menu appears.

The menu items allow you to:

- Select the detail level of the rug;

- RESET the size and shape of the rug to what was originally delivered. This corresponds to the dimensions of the real life rug that it is being reproduced. The X,Y, and Z dimensions are stored as a vector in the Description field of the rug and should not be modified or at least preserved if you need to recover them.

- Get INFO about the rug. Gives you this notecard.

- Set access to the menu. Either OWNERONLY or ANYBODY. Only the Owner can set this option.
