The IntelliDoor Proxkey is a proximity-based access control unit compatible with IntelliDoor products. The Proxkey is unique in that it can only be operated if the avatar is both nearby and unobstructed - e.g. they can reach out and physically touch the unit.
This allows you to set up access control situations where doors can only be opened from one side, or only from behind a wall. Additionally, the Proxkey has a whitelist and Owner/Group/Everyone access control.

Great Product!
Open sesame! From within 3 metres, anyway.
It beeps and then doors open by themselves. Fun! And somehow much more realistic when you have a limited-access area than the door just being magically both locked and unlocked depending on who's touching it.
Okay, it doesn't do all that much you couldn't do without it, but it doesn't cost much either, so it's worth it for the 'feel' of using it if nothing else.
The one notable problem I had is that with some detailed mesh buildings, it might not work because the physics shape of the mesh can extend a little further than some of the visual surfaces on a complex shaped wall, blocking the Proxkey's avatar detection.
In my case, the wall had baseboards and window frames that extended just slightly further than the main surface, and the physics boxes were based on these, meaning the Proxkey was technically 'inside' the wall despite not appearing to be.
The only way to get around that was to either have it floating off the wall which looks terrible, put it in a much worse place, or put some kind of extra panel or object in-between, which invariably looks out of place. So if you're going to be relying on these, it might be a good idea to check your walls' physics shapes first.

These proxkey's look so realistic. Even the sound when you swipe your badge and the status led. Great detail. If you own IntelliDoors, you need these keypads!
