We have just upgraded this OnP AO Roller Blade product to take into account the new Alpha Layer method SL has for heel invisibility. If that is confusing, Roller Blades and Ice Skates and Ladies High Heels always needed a means of invisibility to just show the skate or shoe below the avatar without showing the avatar. This old method used software in the skate or high heel. However, SL seems to wish merchants to use the new Alpha Layer that is useable in their newer viewers. We do agree that this new method does have advantages over the old. We of course do not know if SL will honor the old invisibility method as well as the new Alpha Layer, but we have seen problems in the Dec. 2012 viewer 3.4.3 for some graphic cards - such as ours. We brought this to the attention to SL who said they would look into it but also asked us to look into the new Alpha layer method. Do not worry if this all sounds complex. In this package we have the new method as well as the older product in the same package, at the same original low price.

WHAT IS THIS?

With either the old version 2 or the new version 3, either way it is an animations override system that takes your normal movements such as walking, running and jumping and turns them into roller blade movements via much internal software that we do ourselves. And so you have both roller blades on your avatar feet and skating motions when you move.

NEW FEATURES

In doing this new version, we also made some nice improvements - we believe. We found it best for the alpha system to use an all prim roller blade of reasonable complexity mostly for looks. We then added an even more powerful menu that allows four coloring designs, 9 choices of laces and wheel colors (both the same color for each choice), and the ability to overall tint the coloring to almost any possible shade of SL coloring. The menu also includes menu size adjustments.

COLOR APPEARANCE ISSUES (see the newly added photos for version 3)
* 4 Design colorings: black, pink, blue and a white/gray version that is more easily color tinted
* 9 choices for laces/wheel colors that include: white, black, blue, light blue, pink, magenta (deep pink), green, gold and red.
* A power coloring menu that can add many choices of colors quickly to tint your shoe area of your roller blades. In addition to many colors it also includes brightness controls and RGB settings to allow many choices

SKATING COMMANDS THAT RESPOND TO YOUR NORMAL MOVEMENTS

Walking - skate forward
Running - depending on menu selection, mostly speed skating unless grinding (see below)
PageUp - a jump pose with two legs together and brought together, or grinding
Forward and Right Arrow(both) - if walking speed, then skate forward but bearing to right
Forward and Left Arrow(both) - if walking speed, then skate forward but bearing to left
Right arrow (only) - depending on menu setting, either a spin, or a simple turn
Left arrow(only) - depending on menu setting, either a circle pattern or a simple turn
Pagedown - skates together crouching to meet the floor or object - or grinding
Standing - we do change the standing animation to be more appropriate for a skater

GRINDING - if you select the "speed" option from the "MORE" menu then when you jump (pageup) your feet will go into a grinding position and mostly stay in that position until you come down and then you either stand (take fingers off the arrows and the keyboard for a second) or press only the right arrow button or left arrow button fast or slow.

SOME OTHER MENU CHOCIES
- there are mostly on a submenu called "MORE" accessible from the main color menu

* AO On and AO Off
* Reset - if odd things are happening (check to ensure you are not wearing another AO, since only one at a time should be worn. A common AO is "sexy walk")
* HELP - gives a notecard to you while you are roller blading of the instructions. And it is fairly complete

Our AO also does modify the normal Second Life Stand animation, to make it more normal for a skater.

At OnP Owl and Pussycat in Tissela, at least at the time of this writing we have a skate sports area on top of our mall open to the public, for those who wish to try and grind or just skate.
