The Bergere, Taboret and the Fireplace Screen were were made by Nicolas-Quinibert Foliot and the ornamentations by the sculptor Pierre-Edme Babel in 1769 for Madame du Barry. When Marie Antoinette took over Petit Trianon she decided to keep the furniture and she commanded Jean-Baptiste-Claude Sené in 1775 to make 2 canapés (sofas), 4 Fauteuils a la Reine and 2 Fauteuils Cabriolet. This furniture was the forefront of "Goût Grec" style (a French term for "Greek taste", that is often applied to the earliest expression of the neoclassical style in France). Inspired by “antique” motifs such as interlacing friezes, acanthus leaves and falls of bases, furniture the garlands of natural flowers mixed with these patterns and the white paint came to remind of the simplicity of country life.

You can adjust the intensity of the shadows beneath the screen by selecting the face of the shadow and lowering the transparency to your liking.
