Ultimate Barrel Racing and Pole Bending Horse Racing Games

The Ultimate Barrel Racing and Pole Bending Horse Racing Games work with any horse in SL, including breedables and wearables. Two classic Western horse racing games in one pack, these games are as authentic as possible and lots of fun. The Race Timers are state of the art and track faults as well as a racer's time. You can use them on any sized parcel, even in a skybox. See you at the rodeo!

Ultimate Barrel Racing Horse Racing Game
In this classic Western horse race, racers ride a cloverleaf pattern around three stationary barrels. Barrel Racing is normally a single-racer event, however, in Ultimate Barrel Racing up to 10 racers can compete simultaneously. Bumping a barrel records a fault for that racer. (See "About Faults" below.) There are no owner-configurable options, rez it and play it! A complete setup is only 64 prims, all parts have copy permission.

Ultimate Pole Bending Horse Racing Game
Another classic Western horse race, racers ride to the far end of a line of poles, weave through them, weave back through them, then make a final dash to the finish line. As with Barrel Racing, this is normally a single-racer event, but with Ultimate Pole Bending up to 10 racers can compete simultaneously. Bumping a pole records a fault for that racer. (See "About Faults" below.) There are no owner-configurable options, rez it and play it! A complete setup is only 64 prims, all parts have copy permission.

Ultimate Race Timer w/LED Display Board
Up to 10 racers can use the Race Timer, simply touch it to start a race. (Unlike a Lap Timer, a Race Timer is for "out and back" racing.) The Race Timer will add your name and invite others to join your race. 30 seconds after the last racer joins, the Race Timer will give an "on your mark, get set, go!" sequence in chat, on the LED Display Board, on the Race Timer's hovertext and with color-coded indications on the Race Timer itself. Our special "cheater beater" system keeps racers honest at the starting line. Upon receiving the "go!" indication, racers must leave the starting area immediately or risk being fouled out of the race. Racers should never linger in the start/finish area until they have completed the race. As each racer completes a race, their times are announced in chat and posted to the LED Display Board and the Lap Timer's hovertext. As racers finish the race, 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners are announced and posted. After the race, scores are posted to the "Previous Race" hovertext for review while the Race Timer quickly resets itself, ready for the next race. If no activity is detected within three minutes (or one minute if there is a Winner) the Race Timer ends the race and enters idle mode.

ABOUT FAULTS:
In many types of horse racing, the racer with the fewest "faults" actually wins, time can be used used to break a tie. There are two basic types of faults: 1) Scoring Faults and 2) Disqualification Faults. Scoring Faults can include a horse's refusal, a rider fall, hitting or damaging a jump, esthetic considerations, etc. Disqualification Faults can include omissions (missing a jump,) a horse fall, recklessness, out of bounds, etc. There are also differing rules around the world and there are special problems encountered here in SL. Therefore, we decided to keep the Ultimate Rodeo Horse Racing games fun and practical: 1) the only scoring fault tracked is when a racer "bumps" a barrel or pole, and 2) racers must declare their own omissions and other disqualifying faults. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will be announced based on time alone, those wishing to base race results on Scoring Faults can use the fault tracking information provided to determine the actual winner.
