This radio is a three-tuner, two-way radio. This means it's like three radios in one, you can follow conversations and participate in three channels simultaneously.
Each tuner is one radio in that thinking, and separate from the other tuners.

Each tuner is tuned to a channel or frequency and listens on an own input channel. This may be a bit confusing at first, but it's a well known concept in
second life wireless communication gear.

VirtualVHF is a modern network, based on current day technologies. It's light on scripts and messaging is very fast.Special care went into making it a proper option for mariners and aviators of SL: Messages won't be "lost" when they arrive during sim-crossings.

Please note:
The VirtualVHF Network is independent of other networks. This radios will only communicate with other VirtualVHF devices.
There is no access to radio networks of competitors.

Most functions barely work, if at all

The menu is slow to react to changes- often it doesn't react at all and simply stops working until scripts are reset. Channel changes don't show up when changes are made but will sometimes show up later after a message is received.

Sending commands or radio messages isn't echoed in chat and often takes a long time to get a response, making you wonder if chat commands are working at all.

All that said, it does seem to send and get transmissions on the radio frequencies, so if you only ever intend to use channel 16 with the SLCG, it'll work. Since you can do the same thing with the free one though, this is really only worth buying if you really really like the "ruggedized" look.
