This is the Swift - the sleek hoverbike that uses the latest antigravity technology to transport you across any planet’s surface (or anywhere else in SL). You can learn to fly it in just a few seconds. It's fast and responsive and looks great when you turn on your viewer's Advanced Lighting System because it's materials-enabled. So, you'll see nearby lights dynamically reflected over its smooth curved surfaces.
Features include
- New anti-grav engine
- Public version included
- Materials-enabled
- Fast and easy to fly
- posed pilot seat
- jets, sounds, lights
- headlight on/off
- steady hover mode
- DNA-locked for owner's use only
Flying the "Swift" Hover Bike.
Touch the bike or right-click the pilot seat and select "pilot". Once you're seated, wait a second or two while you hear the powerful anti-grav engines kick in as you hover gently. Now, you can move by using the forward/back arrow keys to adjust the speed, use the left/right arrow keys to steer, and use the PgUp and PgDn keys to climb and descend. Once you're moving, you'll see the thrust jet streaming from the rear as you steer. You can continue to fire the thrusters and move forward as long as you keep your finger on the forward arrow.
Hold the Ctrl key down as you use the left/right arrow keys to perform a sideways "crabbing" strafe movement. You can carry out some cool sideways-sliding moves once you've got the hang of it. You can also do an amazing "drift" by just steering left or right when speeding across the surface.
Headlight.
There's a powerful working headlight on the front of the Hover Bike. Once you're sat on the bike, touch the face of the lamp to turn it on or off. Looks great at night for low-level sim-surface skims.
Landing.
You can use the PageDown key to descend. Once you have landed simply stand up and you'll hear the anti-grav engine will cut out automatically. When parked, the vehicle will always gently hover slightly above the surface.
Parking Up.
If you stand up while you’re still flying, the hover bike will turn off any forward motion, maintain its height and lock its vertical and geostationary position. So, you can park next to a high landing platform or the top of a docking column by hopping out of your pilot's seat when you're in position. It's then safe leave the vehicle.
Security.
The Hover Bike is DNA-locked, a security feature that allows only the owner to fly it. You won't have any worries of someone else jumping aboard and flying off with it after you've parked it. So, we've included a public version that permits non-owners to operate this vehicle. It behaves exactly like your personal one except anyone can fly it. The vehicle will vanish automatically when it's abandoned. This is espcially important if you allow non-owners to operate your vehicles. as they won't be able to move or delete your vehicle if it gets stuck.
Adjustments.
Other than the scripts, it's all copy and mod, so if you want to alter the seat to fit your avatar size, feel free to do so. You can manually adjust and edit the position of the seat and the control assembly to best fit your avi's shape. Make sure the Bike's rotation coords are all set to zero before you move the handlebars and the support. And make sure you're not sat on the Bike while you're working on it. You need to know what you're doing to do this, though. And always work on a copy, not the original.
These craft are all scaled perfectly for use with the Exosphere Modules such as the Landing Terminal, the Landing Dome and the Vehicle Bay.
- Very easy to fly (just use arrow keys)
- Public and Personal versions included
- DNA-locked for owner's use only
- Jets, sounds, lights. smoke trails
- Working headlight
Great service and attention!
I used to have issues with the speed, but the creator was very kind and helped me with the issue, I recommend this for anyone that needs a sub and air vehicle for travel across SL
Lots of fun
So I've been buying all the vehicles this creator makes to support the creation of more creation, despite not being a huge fan of vehicles. That said, this one is the exception.
Positives:
- It flies and goes underwater. This might be silly, but I raised the sea level on my sim to 70m to make an underwater exploration zone. I'm really happy with the feel of swimming around the sim in this sub. Given most of my sim is space based, getting this sub onto the launchpads meant for shuttles helped too.
- Low prim: Some of my shuttles are in the 200 prim range when static, and pass the 700 prim range when flying. I really appreciate the prim count of this sub.
- Public version: I have my own little script for deleting vehicles when people get off, but now that the script is includes in the vehicle, it's easier than before for me to rez a few of these and let people have fun in them.
Negatives:
- None for me.
In summary, I feel I got more than I paid for with this sub.
