You do NOT need to buy MediaSL licenses to use this product:
The Series X also implements a new active license system: you get full control and customization over your TV, along its copy permissions (so that you can place as many of them as you'd like) out of the box, however, you may only have as many TVs turned on simultaneously as the amount of licenses you own. Each AVEN SX comes with two licenses built in by default, and additional ones may be purchased at a lower price. This safety measure helps ensure that the service can operate smoothly, while also keeping everyone's permissions over their TVs.
This is a work in progress and plans may be tweaked soon, with new options aimed outside the domestic use.

So what's new?
▪ Reworked MediaSL5 media center, featuring a sleeker design.
▪ Introducing the Quick Menu, a dynamic overlay you can bring by hovering the center of the screen while playing media to quickly perform applet specific actions like skipping, favoriting, returning, etc.
▪ Core applets including Files (import pictures, videos and songs onto your TV) and Bookmarks (add your own shortcuts to your favorite websites or specific pages).
▪ Polished third party applets (YouTube, Karaoke, etc) and with more yet to come.
▪ Owner lock and Adult mode (disabled by default).
▪ New remote to set yourself as the owner and control additional external features of the TV, like toggling the TV's mount (wall, stand or none), ambience light, navigation bar, among other settings.

Useful apps gone
It was great when Pluto and other apps were available, now it's been gutted. Would love some transparency on as to why.
Even with the latest update
So, I'm reading these reviews and I sympathize, I really do. I really miss the old version where I could watch pluto TV and the other applets. But my understanding is that this has nothing to do with the creator, and everything to do with the crackdown on usage of these streaming services in SL. She's either protecting herself from legal action or has simply run out of workarounds. It's unfortunate. So far the best option seems to be bookmarking a Kosmi room link, but I don't think we will ever go back to how things were before. It's really sad because I tried opening pluto TV in the browser and it wouldn't work that way either. Not entirely sure why it will work in a normal browser but not on a prim. It is what it is though. I still love this TV, I still think it's well made with excellent texturing to make it look as realistic as possible, which is something that is important to me. It's probably only a matter of time before the other apps take a huge dump on the whole deal and also become useless. And it will more than likely still not be the creator's fault. Even if the TV gets completely bricked and we have to resort to bare-bones white screen MoaP with it, I will still love this TV just for the textures. I have yet to find one that compares in that regard.
Extremely limited
This runs a very limited version of youtube. I don't know if it's maybe because of the API or something but 9 times out of 10 what you want to watch on youtube, even when you literally see it on the desktop version of youtube, won't be available through this tv.
What happened?
This TV had it all, I could watch Pluto TV which made my weekends, I could play some classic games and yes even hentai, now all that's been stripped and no word from Arosani, If you're going to change what people paid for you could at least be transparent and explain why.
