-Symphonion Music Box-

The Symphonion is a late 19th century disc music box. These machines were developed in the early 1870s and with their interchangeable and easily-produced metal discs were popular until the 1920s. All sizes of discs and machines were made, from very small models to ones playing discs of over two feet in diameter. This Symphonion typifies the type that would be commonly seen in the home of a well-to-do family in the late Victorian era. The songs it plays are recorded from original music box discs and provide a taste of the type of music popular at the time. The following songs are included:

-Operation-

Simply rez the Symphonion and position it where you wish. To open or close the lid, left click or touch it. To play, touch the disc on the machine and select the title you desire from the drop-down menu. The machine will shut itself off automatically after the disc is finished; you can also press "stop play" if you wish to stop a disc while it is still playing. Modifiable, copyable, Symphonion metal discs are also included, feel free to place them near the machine although they are not necessary for its operation.
