Antikythera Mechanism Clock Version 1.0

Details

The Antikythera mechanism is an ancient Greek analogue computer and orrery used to predict astronomical positions and eclipses for calendar and astrological purposes. It could also track the four-year cycle of athletic games which was similar to an Olympiad, the cycle of the ancient Olympic Games.

Our version has some creative liberties, and displays the current time and date on one side, and a miniature orrery plus the current phase of the moon in the Northern Hemisphere on the other.

For a quick glance at the precise time, touch the clock and a hovertext display will appear for a few seconds. If you want to show this text all the time, edit the notecard (see below) and set show_text to TRUE. See the notecard inside the clock for configuration options

For basic use, rez the Antikythera somewhere and you're done. By default, the clock is set to display Second Life time in 24 hour format and works right out of the box. If you want to change the timezone, or 24-hour vs 12-hour time, edit the clock and double-click on the __config__ notecard which you'll find on the contents tab. Instructions for editing the card are contained within.

The clock is modifiable, and can be resized freely without affecting its orbital mechanics.
