ArtiZan Email Messenger
________________________________________________
Email Messenger allows you to send an inworld instant message to any SL avatar from an external email address.
Ideal for
• Sending a message when you can't log in
• Replying from offline to people who send you a notecard
• Communicating from another SL account without needing to log in.
Simply give it your email address. You will then be able to send it an email with an avatar's name and the message to be sent to them. (See example photo.)

NOTES
________________________________________________
• Avatar Names -
Names sent for messaging must be user names *not* display names. It can read:
Firstname Lastname
firstname.lastname
singlename
singlename Resident
UUID
• Security -
Email Messenger will only respond to emails from addresses you specify. Otherwise anyone could send an email to your messenger's address.
• Confirmation -
Email within SL can fail on the odd rare occasion, so a confirmation email will be sent to you once the message has been sent. If you do not receive a confirmation email within 5 minutes, it is safe to assume that the message was not sent and send it again.
• Message Format -
Messages are sent as private IMs, but all messages from objects (as opposed to avatars) appear in the Local Chat tab and do not open a chat window the way a message from an avatar does. This is an SL default.
To get the recipient's attention, Email Messenger can also send a notecard which will initiate a popup and direct them to the chat message.
• Address -
Whenever an object is rezzed in SL it gets a new UUID, which is active for as long as it is rezzed. Whenever you activate the Email Messenger, it will send its latest address to your nominated email addresses, so you always have the latest one on hand when you need it.
• Modifying -
To make a 1 prim version, you can just unlink all the prims (Ctrl-shift-L) and keep only the one with the graphic. You can also drag out the contents and add them to any other object instead (potplant, rock, whatever ;)

RECOMMENDED
• Set up "Send IM to Email" in your SL viewer preferences
To make best use of this, turn on "Send IM to Email" in your SL viewer (Preferences → Communication).
This will allow you to receive SL instant messages in your email, and reply to them. In this way, when people IM you from your profile link, you can reply and carry on an IM conversation while offline.
