The Botanical Seasonal Weather System allows you to add rain and snow effects to your environment for year-round weather enjoyment!
The system comes packaged as a HUD, from which you can easily rez several sizes of weather effects for easy and effective coverage of your land, precisely where you want it.
Weather effects include three levels of rain or snow severity and movement, as well as custom environmental sounds for each level. Available weather options are:
Clear (weather effects are hidden)
Light / Medium / Heavy Rain
Light / Medium / Heavy Snow
The sizes included should cover most typical use:
64x64x40 – 7 land impact. 64 meters to a side and 40 meters tall. Excellent filler for large low/no traffic areas.
20x20x40 – 1 land impact. 20 meters to a side and 40 meters tall. Great for medium size areas with higher traffic.
10x10x40 – 1 land impact. 10 meters to a side and 40 meters tall. A smaller size for more precise weather placement.
5x20x40 – 1 land impact. 5 meters wide, 20 meters long, 40 meters tall. Good for alleys and against buildings.
5x10x40 – 1 land impact. 5 meters wide, 10 meters long, 40 meters tall. A good option for surrounding smaller buildings.
Rezzing the controller on your property turns the HUD into a group accessible interface for partners and land managers to change the weather and also unlocks the ability for automatic timed weather changes.
Weather effects are also compatible with the Seasonals V2 controller, allowing you to change the weather from rain to snow as you are changing your landscape!

Awesome HUD
This system works well for me because it offers different settings and not eager on land impact regardless of how you set the weather, the snow is beautiful for those who like to make winter or mountain themed builds, personally I bought it for rain but I tested the snow too and it's great. The HUD is easy to manipulate allowing you to rez multiple pieces in different corners depending of your needs, the trash option is also nice so you can easily get the items back. Only negative point is that the sounds are too quiet, Ive read that you can trick this by lowering the prims down because the sounds emanates from the center of the prim and the prims themselves cover a wide radius which is not the case for the sound box, also depending of your camera's orientation you may or may not hear the sounds which is troublesome because every nature lover will confirm that sounds are importants especially when it comes to rain. Ive seen it would be adressed in 2021 and its still not adressed so i cant give it 5* but I still gladly give it a 4 and if you ever fix the sound issue i'd change that review to 5 happily.
Beautiful, and low lag!
I was recommended this weather system by a friend of mine who is big into outdoor builds. I have been chasing rain (heavy rain, particularly) with good performance, but unfortunately, even those animated rain products with the simplest of scripts can literally cut your FPS in half. My outdoor build went from 102FPS to 45FPS with just one placement. This system not only looks MUCH better, and I lose roughly 10FPS when two of them are placed next to each other. That's pretty amazing! If you're looking to keep performance and FPS high, then I've yet to see a better weather system than this one! Highly recommended.
Still through structures
Superb looking (and sounding!) weather control system.
Unfortunately - despite the warning not to use 'rotating' weather types close to structures - all rain and snow still comes through all the structures making it rain or snow inside as well...
Great raining or snowing, but automatic feature is not working
This weather system looks good, unfortunately I wasn't able to set the automatic weather, which was the main reason I bought it. The clock icon in the HUD remains gray and the message says: 'This feature is only available for controllers rezzed in-world.' I had the controller rezzed in-world, but it still didn't work. It's disappointing that this key feature isn't functioning. Other than that, the rain or snow looks very good. 3/5
Great
This was so easy to set up. The different sizes worked well for me to cover the land all around my house. The only thing I wish was added was thunderstorm effects (thunder and lightning flashes). Otherwise, this is just great and is almost exactly what I was looking for. Definitely recommend.
