Waiting for SL2? You now can already make mesh-models in SL, save them onto your hard-disk. Use them in SL, other games, or whatever. Build your own creative portfolio.
Celzium is an inworld mesh creation tool for SecondLife.
You can select from 32 mesh objects and create more complex build with these, Upto 8 different textures/materials are supported, includes UV-texturing and layout. Upto 200 sub-meshes can be rezzed and converted to a collada .dae file. You can upload into SL, or like blender and other 3D software packages.
I allow people to use, give away and sell the creations created with celzium (if using more then 2 building-blocks of this tool ) inworld, on other grids, to use for graphic & games, your portefolio.
(Selling or distributing the the individual building blocks of celzium I do not allowed at the moment)
And I would ask you to be wise about the distribution of your work, like giving it out copy/mod.
So it doesnt endup in a big biab-pile.
Although I work with standalone 3Dsoftware, I still love the ease of building and sketching in SL, for fine-tuning for certain models, I use like blender now and then.

The idea behind it is, easy to create mesh objects and builds. From beginning to more advanced builders. Its nice to have an inworld tool, from simple sketching, collision models for your more complex builds.. etc.
Can these shapes be cut like sl prims?
No, the shapes are individual types of mesh themself, low-poly mesh-objects including the UV-layout. They can be scaled/rotated/translated, like sculpties. In the future I want to add more mesh shapes and Celzium addons to choose from.
(There are some other tools around for 'normal' sl-prims to 3D-models incase you need that)
Needs:
Second Life client
You need land in SL where you can create and build, and can use scripts.
The tool itself is 1-prim, and 1 prim for each for every building block rezzed (max 200+)
Only the owner of the tool, can use it
A recent browser
To convert the data generated in celzium to a .dae collada file.
Current supports Firefox/Chrome/Safari/Opera with java-script enabled.
---> (the xml-file generation is not working on the current Internet-Explorer browser at the moment!)

For this tool I had in mind, simple/easy to use.

Is not really that good compared to other mesh generators.
I have used other mesh converters and this one is just really inconvenient.
1. You need to use only the objects the thing gives. Cant use or create your own.
2. The texturing on each piece is just terrible. There's just no way to texture nicely your build later cause each piece is a extremely stretched single texture that is pretty much worthless to make UV maps.
3. Even buying the 3 packs you don't really get much options. You can do more yourself by using the build tool from your viewer.
4. the way you convert these "models" to an useful mesh file you can upload is just bad. This process could be automated like other mesh converters. Instead you need to go to websites, copy a lot of codes, paste them on text documents, convert file.. then finally upload... is just the worst way to do it.
5. Most of the shapes can be done with some hours on youtube and blender.
Excellent! If you want to build with good shapes, then buy this (and the other 2)
I first bought a Prim to Mesh converter, which works very well. But it seems limited to the shapes you can make with normal prims. It won't handle UVs unless created by it's sister product.
So I found this and went to see in-world. I could not make up my mind which of the 3 were the best to buy... so I bought 1 and ran some tests. VERY impressed at how well this works. So I bought the 2nd one and right after this review, I'm buying the 3rd. AND if Cel makes some add-ons that have a whole bunch of new and special shapes, I'll buy those too. If Cell makes an add-on that will allow the use of normal sl prims with UV, I'll buy that too.
HERE'S THE BIG SELLING POINT for me. With all of the others on the market, you have no choice but to send the data created to a website to be processed into a .dae file.
With Celzium, you can do that, BUT, Cel has provided a local copy of the processor so you can just do it all on your own computer.
What does that mean? With the other products, if the creator goes out of business or shuts down the server, you just kiss your Lindens a sad good by.
But because this can all be done on your own computer without going to the website, if something happens, you are not affected.
THANK YOU Cel for that option and this product.
I will be contacting Cel to find out if his other products that produce prims with UV, if they can be converted within Celzium as well. Now THAT would get me to buy more.
Excellent
Perfect for a quick, easy and simple construction!
Amazing tool :)
I bought this a while ago, but only just writing a review (I don't normally write reviews). I spent ages trying to find a good mesh tool that was easy to use and understand after i bought that sculpt and mesh studio and spent ages trying to learn just one step of that but just couldn't :( I saw this and decided to give it a go. I absolutely love it and use it heaps. It's simple to use and there's so many things you can make with it. My only issue that i still haven't worked out is when i build something like a house and i can't walk into it, I'm thinking I'm pressing the wrong options for it, but it is definitely worth the L. I showed my sister it and even she got one and has made heaps with it since, we're both really happy with it. I'm planning to get the other mesh one's too. A really great tool. Cel done an amazing job :)
Marvelous!
