NEW UPDATE!
Consul Pust Fishing Trawler
Historical recreation by Moo Spyker
Version 1.1 Updates:
- Prim counts are cut DRASTICALLY while driving now. Certain physics shapes turn off while your anchors are up. It's now 315 prims while driving vs 497!
- Every script is now script profiled. Brought the script memory usage from from 3000 kb to 702 kb!!! Makes sim crossing all that easier.
- Replaced the entire main body with a new mesh to fix the physics shape causing you to "float" over the deck.
- Removed and cleaned up some unnecessary scripts.
- Added "Fixed" camera angle button. The camera will now stay where it currently is and you can keep controlling the boat!
- Added "Group" in the privacy menu
- Added "Moo's Universal Gestures"
Wear the gestures and the controls are as follows:
- F5 or F6 - Play bell sound
- F7 - Lights on
- F8 - Lights off
- F9 - Default camera
- F10 - Driving camera
- F11 - Fixed camera
- F12 - High Angle camera
- Shift + F5 - Anchor menu
- Shift + F6 - Sail menu
- Shift + F7 - Load menu
- Set realistic "Density" setting. Hard for others to push the boat around now.
- New poseball security. Seated unauthorized AV's will be throw over board, same if they attempt to sit.
Please IM me "Moo Spyker" for any bugs that you find so I know what needs fixing! Thanks
This is a German fishing trawler from the 1920's. It is steam powered and was used to drag nets out behind the ship to catch fish. Not much info is around on this ship. A company makes a paper model kit for this ship as well as a site offers a 3 page blueprint set, which is what I used to make this. Searching around on a German forum I found this bit of translated data on the ship kinda hard to make out but here it is:
"The original the sheet gives the following data: The Consul blows 1919 on the Lauenburger Hitzler throwing for the rust ochers deep-sea fishing AG was built. Is from 1920 to 1925 the Consul blow from Rostock on fishing gone. In the year 1932 the ship was sold after Lorient, and drove from now on as Monique Andree . In the Second World War the ship was used at the French and British navy as auxiliary sweeper. After return at France the ship was used still until 1957 for fishing and thereafter broken off."

It's really good!
Honestly it is. I wasn't quite sure what to expect at first, but this turned out to be really good, and for what's now quite a low price. It looks good, sails realistically, crosses sims well. For the real big (powered) ship experience in SL I'd suggest getting this.
Amazing !!
Sounds like this boat has been around a while, never seen it and decided to try it. I was shocked an amazed. Someone actually got a really good camera function on this and i totally love it. Really worth having!
Outstanding!
Still after 12 years this boat beats 90% of other boats on the market, I am a very critical guy, the way this boat handles in the water, the speed, it's turning, the way it's painted is all so realistic! I love taking this boat out to the Blake Sea when I go fishing. 5/5 Stars
100 Quality and good drive system!
Incredible, the sailing system and maneuvers is totally realistic! good job, waiting for big ships ^^
Superb.
Excellent model. Detailed and a pleasure to sail. Probably the best of its kind in SL.
Truly a rarity.
I don't always write reviews, I may rate, but typically in order to get a review from me - you either have created something extremely bad, or created something that defiantly stands out among others in its class. I have sailed, bought, and been around many ships, boats, and other vessels on SL - and I must say that this ship is truly, and honestly, a very special rarity.
The textures are extremely well done, and it's clear quite a bit of thought went into them. The ship is to scale, and has anything and everything you could expect aboard such a fine vessel. The sounds are amazing, well executed in scripting, and crisp. The sailing scripts that propel this ship are definitely well done, everything is done and handled down to the helm. She does extremely well on Blake crossings, with little to now loss or otherwise disruption to your experience.
This ship sticks out among all others I've seen, she is beautiful, well-made, and definitely a special rarity worth your time and money, hands down. 5 Stars.
