FAYDED - Chief of Police Badge

100% custom mesh police badge for your role-play needs. Many versions available, see my Marketplace store. These badges are rezzed in-world for viewing.

Please read these instructions for how to customize and wear your badge before buying so you know what to expect.

INTRO:
The Badge should be attached to your spine, and the Badge Clip should be attached to your pelvis. Everyone is different, so you will likely need to adjust the position, rotation, and size so the badge sits properly. I have also included the shield in case you want to wear it like a pin, or attach it by itself. NOTE: if you need to resize the badge you will need to edit each linked part. I recommend rezzing a spare copy to resize in case you mess up.

This badge requires a moderate level of experience with texturing, editing linked parts, and using Photoshop or Gimp if you want to customize the badge with your city, name, and badge number.

IMPORTANT: I recommend that you rez a copy of the badge out on the ground so you can easily edit it. That way, if you mess up, you can delete it and rez a new copy.

IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO MAKE A TEXTURE TO CUSTOMIZE YOUR BADGE:
If you do not care to customize your badge, you can simply wear the badge as is by attached to either your pelvis or spine.

TO CUSTOMIZE THE BADGE WITH YOUR CITY'S POLICE DEPARTMENT JURISDICTION:
All badges normally indicate a city or police department name. These badges are modeled after New York City, so they all have an empty space where the badge would normally say "City of New York" or "New York Police Department." These empty spaces can be modified in Gimp or Photoshop with your police department's jurisdiction.

I have included a full perm copy of the badge texture with your purchase. Simply download the badge texture, open it in Gimp or Photoshop, and add your police department or city in the blank space provided. DO NOT CHANGE THE SIZE! If you change the size of the badge texture, it will not sit properly on the badge.

Once you are done, upload your modified badge texture to Second Life, click on your badge in edit mode, click on "select faces," and drop your new texture on the center of the shield. Then you are all done!

TO CUSTOMIZE THE MERIT BARS:
The merit bars (where you see the American Flag and Thin Blue Line) are faces that are part of the leather badge. If you want to customize those, you will need to drop your texture onto the face and play with the texture settings until it sits properly. You will likely need to adjust rotation and repeats, as I have it set for the textures I placed on the badge.

MISCELLANEOUS:
You will find with your purchase a full permissions copy of the badge texture, nameplate template, nameplate example, badge number template, and badge number example. Please do not distribute these textures or use them for anything else other than customizing your purchase. The textures are full permissions so you can download them and modify them.

All objects are Modify and Copy, unless otherwise indicated on the Marketplace listing. This enables you to make adjustments to your purchase as needed.
