A holo-emitter for SL.

It’s similar to the holodecks you see in Star Trek - you click it, a menu comes up, you select a scene and poof! The scene appears in all its 3D glory.

I call it a “Holo-Emitter System.” I prefer that name because “holodeck” imples a room, whereas this system can fill an entire sim (unlike some other holodecks in SL, which are limited to a small region near the control center). It’s also different from a “holo-vendor” in that each scene can be made up of multiple unlinked objects. Lastly, if you move the holo-emitter 4 meters north (or whatever) and rez a scene, then the scene will also be moved 4 meters north: the scene’s position is relative to the holo-emitter.

Outstanding Item

This object rezer is fantastic. I've used it for everything from a full sim race track to putting displays in a 10x20 shop. It does exactly what it says it does and it works perfectly every time. It is very easy to use and the instructions on the website are easy to understand. I've been using it for several years and it still works perfectly in 2015. This is one freebie that is worth $1000 lindens. Don't pay for an object rezer, use this one and keep your lindens in your pocket.

Just love it to pieces.

This works perfectly and setup is straight forward.
I think it is more elegant in operation and setup than any of its commercial rivals that I have tried to use with varying degrees of success.
I suggest you copy instructions from the website and paste them into a new notecard in SL

It does not work at any parcel offering permission to rez to anybody.

May be this only works if the owner of a region or parcel gives you some special permision to rez. I tried this step-by-step in several sandboxes and all it does it rez all the scene objects at the same coordinates of the emitter, all bunched up. Useless.

Works as advertised

To put it bluntly: this system does what it says it does, at an unbeatable price (0L$).

It works exactly as intended and basically does the same that other, far more expensive systems do. However, there are two "complaints".

1) The documentation is on a webpage. While this does not seem like a big issue, it's continuous window-switching. And if the webpage should be offline or the author loses interest - the documentation is gone.

2) The documentation needs to be follwed BY THE LETTER. I thought I figured out how the system worked, jumped ahead, omitted and combined steps... BIG mistake! Follow it to the letter, specifically the order in which prims are rezzed and scripts are placed. And you will have fun :-)
