Gorgeous! Especially for its price
This Watermill home is so, so incredibly well made and textured, the pictures here don't do it justice. This was obviously made with a lot of love, the rooms are spacious, I especially like the balconies and the 'glass' room, but the basement and wine cellar too leave tons of room for decoration and creative fun.
The only thing I would have liked is for there to be splashing effects around the watermill and possibly a sound, but that is just a personal preference and doesn't take away from the overall quality, especially for the price.
My favorite house yet
Pros:
+ Really high quality mesh work - plenty of detail but not too much. It has a (relatively) low land impact, and still manages to keep its shape at low LODs.
+ Living spaces are very open and spacious (plenty of room to move the camera around) without being TOO spacious to feel cozy.
+ Lots of little spaces to fill with knick-knacks, and nearly every angle is visually interesting in some way - no part of the house feels neglected.
+ Put some trees around it, and it is absolutely as cute as a button. Seriously!
Cons:
- The wine cellar/dungeon area has paper-thin walls, making it nearly impossible to set the house into a coastline/hill/etc with SL's terraforming tools. Expect to either place it ON land (basement and all) or to get very creative with grass-colored prims to act like a skirt around the border of the house. (I would take off half a star for this if I could, but it's not bad enough to dock a full star.)
- Interior is VERY shab-chic; this is a personal taste thing so I'm not inclined to dock any stars, but I didn't really like the run-down feel inside and ended up redoing most of the interior textures.
- The purpose of most interior spaces (i.e. "is this a living room/kitchen/bedroom/etc") isn't really clear. This may be a good thing if you like designing unique rooms, but you'll definitely need to bring the creativity for this part too.
All in all, if you don't mind spending the time to get the landscape set up and find furniture sets that fill the space just right, this home is super cute and really picturesque! My only regret is that I didn't find it sooner! :)
nice but a few small comments..
Great texturing, nice design. Just a few little comments: first the wheel should be turning the opposite way (no water comes streaming from behind a rock), there's a small alpha joint in the dungeon floor, the lower floor level should have been slightly higher up, espaccially the one in the dungeon, the rock outside should have been stretched up to underwater level. You need to know how to terraform to get this look right. Other than this it's a great build and I love it.
An awesome place to live and invent
Looking at the pictures, this house appealed to the mad inventor in me. When I bought it I wasn't disappointed. It is far more expansive than you'd think by looking at it, with many levels and a semi-hidden underground passage and dungeon. I especially love the second floor sun room. Great work!
UN...BELIEVE....ABLE
Well I own most everything this creator has made and when I saw her newest creation I had to buy it, not even knowing where I would put it, but had to rearrange my sim to find a spot for it because it is spectacular and that is an understatement. If you're thinking about buying this...stop thinking already, BUY IT !!!
just WOW!
so i have lived in the house a few days now. and no flaws that i can find.stunning good looks and textures. no alpha problems, great fit and detail. low prim/land impact. only complaints i have are the doors do not have any options. not even auto close. also the steam punk machines in the photos do not come with it. i think worth the money though.
