Truly there few jobs in the world that call for as many skills as being a school bus driver. They must be alert, careful and well trained drivers of course. And, they must be able to concentrate on their driving responsibilities while also serving as a guide and counselor and social facilitator for their passengers.
Fortunately, this is only a four-passenger bus along with the driver. The driver sits in my original driver animation made specifically for this bus, and the four passengers sit in nicely animated relaxed poses.
The speed is controlled with a ten-speed transmission (gear speed) so you can can choose to travel at reasonable speeds according to road conditions.reverse.
It is easy to operate, just use the on-screen motion controls jump up and crouch down to change gear speed, or use keyboard page up/down keys also. There are two reverse gear speeds. Key "r1" in chat to set reverse and low speed, and "r2" for a stronger reverse gear. There is a private message in chat to confirm each change in gear selection.
The steering quickness of this school has been designed carefully so as to avoid quirky over sensitivity, yet allowing you to turn quickly when you need to. Use your on-screen motion controls to steer, or as most do use your keyboard direction arrows.
As the driver sits you will hear the engine start-up and then being to idle and you are read to go. You will also see the engine exhaust begin and end automatically as the driver is seated and stands.
When you sit you see a view behind the school bus. To select more interesting and useful views key "v1" for a view just behind the bus, "v2" for a nice view just behind the driver. and "v3" for the driver's view of the road ahead.
The headlights work with the SL advanced lighting system. Be sure to activate advanced lighting in graphics tab of your viewer preferences to see this feature. Touch the yellow button near the steering wheel to turn the lights on and off. You will hear an electronic confirmation sound when you touch this button.
Key an "h" in chat to hear a friendly "beep beep" which may prove useful if you see residents standing in the road ahead.
To pick up passengers, touch the right side of the door and the two door panels operate accordion style just like a real school bus. Touch again to close. Even easier, key "open" or "close" in chat to operate the doors along with a public chat comment to watch your step entering and departing. You can also manually touch the STOP sign on the left side of the bus to extend or retract it as desired for loading passengers.
But for real school bus authenticity key "s" in chat and the important STOP sign extends on the left side of the bus as you also see a public chat loading warning to nearby drivers. And importantly, the overhead amber warning lights in front and back also begin to flash brightly on and off. Key "g" in chat and the doors close accordion style and the STOP sign returns to its position the side of the bus and the amber lights are turned off.
This bus contains a resize script so you can easily adjust the size of the vehicle to your liking. Touch the Larsson Lark logo near the engine hood to get the resize menu on your viewer screen. Feel free to contact me if you need your seating position adjusted. I will be happy to do this for you.
