Very low script usage, measured after load well idle.
[2/2] running scripts, 64 KB allowed memory size limit, 0.000709 ms of CPU time consumed.

Instructions:

First, unpack the Lite Collar box and add contents to inventory.

1) Right click and "Add" the collar (not provided) that you wish to add the scripts to, or rez it on the ground. Then edit the collar and in the edit window, select the Contents tab.

2) Now in inventory, drag the provided "Controller" script and the "Leash Ext" script into the Contents area in the edit window.

3) Drag from inventory the Leash Handle Object (what ever leash handle you wish to use or the one provided, called "test_leash_handle") into the Contents area.

4) Now close the edit window (if you rezzed the collar to the ground, right click and take into inventory). Locate the collar in inventory and right click it and "ADD". Now you should be wearing your scripted collar.

5) Left click the collar and a blue menu will open in the upper right corner of your screen (if the menu opened, continue here, if it did not, skip to 6) below.
In the menu, press the "Leash" button. You should see a leash appear attached to your collar. If you like where it is attached, then nothing further needs to be done.

If you do not see the leash attached, then proceed to 6), below:

6) Edit your collar or rez it to the ground. Left click the Contents tab and double click on the Controller Script. Make sure that in the lower left corner of the Script Controller" window, that BOTH checkboxes are selected ("Running" and "Mono" checkboxes). Press "Save" if you checked either. Then press "Reset" button in lower right below the "Save" button. Wait while the reset is completed. Now close the "Script Controller" window and double click the "Leash Ext" script. Repeat the same process that you just did for the "Controller" script, making sure both checkboxes are selected, "Save", and "Reset". Now close the Script Controller window.

If you want the leash to attach to a different part of your collar, you will need to Edit the collar, then double click the "Leash Ext" script. On line 2 of the script, you will see:
integer particle_emitter_link = 0;

Change the "0" (zero) to the prim link set number from which you wish the chain particles to emit. (Changing the number changes the emitting position).
The Marketplace listing for the product includes a photo of where to find the link set number in your collar. Please refer to that.
Press "Save" and close the "Script Controller" window.

* Collars leash script is compatible with all open collar leash handles.

NOTES: Collar used rlv commands, rlv must be enabled for it to work fully, how ever these options can be turned off with the setting menu.

Because these are much smaller script then open collar the memory usage and runtime cost are much less a side by side comparison well idle shows the follow results.

24x reduction in allowed memory size
10x reduction in cpu use

The details of this comparison are included in the script package.

This is just what I need

I've been having problems with my existing free collar, as it is just too complicated for me to set things up so that my mesh body parts, head, and other things I do not want removed by someone accessing my collar are safe from removal. Also, some sims are warning me or ejecting me for my avatar being too high in scripts. The Lite collar gives me the one thing I really want, which is leashing. I don't want anything else in my collar. The other two collar functions are force sit on ground or object and force teleport. I don't want those at all, but at least I can disable them in the menu. If you do use ground sit, I don't think there is an unsit method right now due to a LL issue, although you can relog to undo it. So I am requesting a menu option to resize, and to include a simple collar in the package all scripted and ready to go, for those unable to load scripts themselves. Also, the instructions should include more detail, such as how to edit the leash script to properly leash to the collar at the spot you want. I do know from speaking with the creator, that more detailed instructions are being written right now. Overall, these scripts are close to exactly what I've wanted, and sometimes....less is more!
