This Authentic Historical Reproduction was inspired by magic lanterns manufactured by companies like Tyler & Stackemann late in the 19th century. Due to the high demand at the time, the magic lantern industry was almost the equivalent of today's computer industry. Mssrs. Peck and Snyder sold at least 47 different varieties of magic lanterns in their 1886 catalog “Price List of Out & Indoor Sports and Pastimes”.

Our magic lantern is fashioned from the finest quality varnished mahogany and lacquered brass (with tin lined light boxes). It features accurately reproduced limelight illuminators (with safe "blow-through" jets). A pair of triple achromatic optics (running on rack and pinions) project light and the image of the lantern slide onto a separate projection screen.

✔ Note: The projection screen is not part of the same linkset as the projector and can therefore be placed anywhere in the room in relation to the projector (e.g. any distance that seems appropriate for your venue).

Dissolving views normally require the use of dual magic lanterns, projecting two images onto the same screen, dissolving into and emerging from one another. This impressive gimmick led some to sell their magic lanterns in matched pairs. However this New Improved Duplex Magic Lantern allows a single lantern and skilled operator to produce the same effects.

The magic lantern and screen contain animations that allow the lecturer (or assistant) to stand at the device and change the slides manually or chose to Auto-play (with a selectable timer). The presenter can lecture from behind or alongside the projector, or from the screen while referring to the image.

■ Animations
● From behind the lantern: Light the limelight luminaire, load slides & point out the image on the screen.
● From beside the lantern: Face the audience and make the presentation / lecture.
● From in front of the projector: Stand at the screen and point out areas of particular interest regarding your presentation.

✔ Note: From any animation (even when not in an animation) your can completely control the projector.

The magic lantern comes with an authentic reproduction projection screen. The projected images can be presented in 3 aspect ratios to match your personally loaded textures. The screen is not physically linked to the projector and can therefore be placed anywhere in the room. Alternately you can choose to project your images directly onto the wall, you remember, like you did in your dorm room.

● Available from the Options menu
● Sets the aspect ratio of the displayed image automatically to accommodate the texture as the slide show progresses.

● Portrait 3:4 (Vertical)
● Square 1:1
● Landscape 4:3 (Horizontal)

The projector and screen can be placed anywhere in the room and in relation to each other (e.g. they are not art of the same linkset). You may of course use your own furniture; however we also provide a period matching mahogany table reminiscent of those used in salons and drawing rooms exhibitions.

✔ Note: Each projector can drive an unlimited number of display devices as long as they are in the broadcast range (refer to the Projector Help, downloadable PDF). This can be very useful for large presentation venues.

Along with a table we also provide period appropriate folding chairs with male and female sit animations for those desiring to setup a presentation venue.
