The NorPhone PBX is a multi-purpose networking tool developed by Northbridge Business Systems for use on the Gentek Telecom network.
ALL NORPHONE PRODUCTS ARE ACTUAL FUNCTIONING TELEPHONES! They are the ONLY phones in Second Life that actually place and receive calls gridwide. You can talk to anyone with a NorPhone using text chat.
The NorPhone PBX is a specialized call routing tool used to create line splitters, phone trees, and holding queues. Incoming calls can trigger multiple phones to ring at the same time (split), be routed to a specific line depending on the caller's choice (dial tree), find a single available line in a call center (sequence), or hold the call with optional music until the "downstream" phone is available (hold). The PBX cannot make calls on its own, and cannot be used without connecting it to one or more other NorPhones.

This is the true ICING for the proverbial telephone system cake!
At first it seemed perhaps I had bought something that wasn't really needed if you had their multi-line business phone. However as I discovered its flexibility and the many different configurations it could be used as, I quickly discovered it took an already ROCKING telephone system and kicked it up quite a few notches! I have fully networked my entire airport with about 20 different numbers, three listed, most private inter-corporate numbers. It gives customers calling me the ability to be directed via menus to various departments (where a additional PBX was set up to give a whole new set of choices within that specific department) and individuals throughout the business. I truly hope that this catches on and becomes SL's new STANDARD for telephone service throughout the entire grid! The more who use it, the more fun it will be to use! Great job! I can't wait to see what you come out with next.
