thank you for you interest in the "Old Power Station"

The model for this Industrial building comes from a Hydroelectric plant in Sweden (3 vertical turbines). During the electrification of the country many similar small power plants were built toward the end of the 19th century. Especially in the northern part of the country where many of the rivers could be used for low scale electricity production. Many of the plants had turbines that could work even in very small rivers and usually the water was led in under the building through a tunnel. The architecture varied a lot but usually these power plants were the pride of the town or industrial compound. The buildings were very high quality and built to last. Many were built with bricks or stucco and detailed with polished slate or marble and wood.

Many of the former power plants in Sweden are now converted into homes and the buildings are in high demand on the housing market.

This building can be used as a power plant, a harbor magazine, workshop, garage, locomotive shack (narrow gauge) or as a unique home.
