Animated Mermaid – menu driven setup

Three styles of one mermaid inside, and each is okay to copy in case you want more than one. Each mermaid is 4 prims. One prim, the body top, is a custom sculptured prim with a very custom texture. This technique allows us to make a low prim, 4 prim mermaid that has 3 dimensions much as a real one would.

Each mermaid is menu driven for setup, and setup responds to its owner only. So don't worry about someone changing the settings. The mermaid can move in all three directions - x,y and z where z is height or up and down motion if you will. Each of these three can be set to 0 or up to 7 total meters (approx). And you can also set speeds from 5 preset values form slowest to fastest. When done with settings, you would then lower the mermaid into the water either by yourself or using a command that drops the mermaid 1 meter each press. Then at the very end when happy, you would reset the center for the mermaid so the mermaid remembers the center you wish, and then press start. Then you can do another mermaid if you wish.

One item above I did not say, but should. Many of our animated marine items change direction they are facing in order to face where they are going. We did not allow the mermaid to do this since we believe you would likely wish the mermaid to face a certain direction most of the time. So, you can simply turn the mermaid around in the direction you wish before setting the controls.

Information on settings is including inside in a note. But often with mermaids, unlike our fish, swans and ducks, sometimes less is more. By that you might not want fast movements or for the mermaid to go long distances. So we do on purpose lower the speed and distance. But of course, you do want some movement to give the illusion of course that the mermaid is alive. The movement for the mermaid, as with our other swans, ducks, and fish, is random in nature, but tries at least to stay approximately inside the area that you set for it.
