One really simple~ easy to set up clock script will run an entire linkset of one or more Analog Clock faces all at once with really low lag.
Allows you to change time zones as well.
It's really easy to use::
»Build your clock / clocktower
»Name each part appropriately- eg "minute hand", "hour hand" etc
»Point all the hands to 12 o'clock
»Drop the script in to the root prim.
»Use the script menu to fix any problems.
»???
»Profit!
For those curious! This one script will animate and run an entire set of analog clock faces, as well as any linked gears and flywheels. Meaning you can have two, four or even eight (or more! ) clock faces and all associated hands and gears with almost no lag. It works with Mesh, Prims and Sculpts. Provided the clock hands have a proper central pivot point.
My gift to all my steampunk friends!
Mod it , Edit it, use it, give it to other people.
I spent a ̶d̶a̶y̶ couple weeks on this to reduce simulator update lag in SL! (Not to be confused with FPS lag aka "My SL is a slide show.." ~ fixing that is what the Firestorm Viewer is for )
For those wondering why this is 10L~ I made this script so all the wonderful steampunk sims out there would be less lagged from their 100's of clocks!
Hope it helps!~~
Credit to Jenni Eales and "The PAINTOY Factory" for the original driver script. This is just a much MUCH more efficient and easier to use version, and also has now been edited to include tons of new features, to the point where not much of her script remains ~ buuuuut credit where it's due!!
New in 2.2!!!
══════════════════════════
Added a setting to adjust 'Mesh Up Direction", for those who were struggling to get their rotation axis correct. This is useful for handling meshes that were uploaded with a differing up axis than SL has, for example from software such as Maya.
Also added a very rudimentary Northern hemisphere "DST" button, but this does not account for hemisphere changes or weird local timezone practices~ etc. Accurately tracking the observance of all DST changes across the entire world would require more computer memory than a single SL script allows ~ Anyhoo ~ At least an effort was made! There is now a DST button, when active ~ time moves forward one hour.
Now added support for SOUNDS (clock ticking, and chime based sounds ~ though the latter requires a small second script which is included )
Also added new functionality for TEXTURE BASED CLOCKS.
For those curious what a "Texture based clock" is ~ it's a clock built with just a texture for clock hands, and the texture rotates, rather than the prim with the texture on it. This is slightly more efficient than rotating the entire prim.
This script should effectively do what every other clock script on the market does ~ but at a fraction of the cost ~ and well ... just ~ a little bit better.
Also added support for my harmonics plugin which should be in the affiliated listings below~ It makes things swing!!

ADDENDUM
THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO HAVE COPIED/RECREATED THIS FULL PERM SCRIPT, MADE MINOR CHANGES TO IT AND POSTED IT FOR 750 L$ to 2500 L$ WITH NO SUBSTANTIAL VALUE ADDED.
Be smart about your purchases peoples~ ^ ^
- One Script Controls MANY clock faces
- Really Low Lag
- Less memory and faster than multiscript clocks
- FULL PERMS ~ Trade it Mod it Give it Away!
- Easy to Use !
Great Script, even better creator.
Polysail is awesome. I was having trouble aligning my clock hands and she came to me and worked with me through my frustration with her wonderful patience. Thank you for the great script and your awesome help!!
I LOVE YOU AND YOUR FAB CLOCK SCRIPT. TY!!!
I was trying out different clock scripts from various LSL libraries and none provided a fabulous time zone change menu like this one.
This is so simple and easy to use.
For my mesh clock hands, I created a plane in Blender, rotated 90 on on the x axis then edited it to create the diamond shape I wanted.
Using a mirror modifier, I created a mirror, then back into edit to assign a different material to the mirror.
Then back into object mode where I set the origin cursor to geometry. This creates the pivot point between the original & mirror..
I import into SL and then texture/color, place the hand on the clock face with the pivot centered then alpha out the bottom mirror.
The mesh hands rotates perfectly.
Thank you for making this script and pretty much giving it away.
xo
wonderful work
Does exactly what it should.
For mesh parts - handles rotating around their local z axis. Keep this in mind when creating/uploading mesh for your clocks
Fine script but.....
The script works fine if one use it together with prims, but strange things happends if u have a clock or watch made of mesh. I contacted the scripter who was very helpful to solve the problem. However......for 10 LD I can recommend to buy it.
Excellent value for money and a superb script
Works very well, is simpler than most of the other scripts I have tried, and on top of that, the creator customised it for me in about 5 minutes from the time of asking.. For 100L$ that would all = a great bargain, I feel slightly guilty, so to improve my self image, please buy this script if you need a clock script :) Oh, and don't ask her for free scripting, one of us is enough!!
