What's in this kit:

SF:: ~JJ~ Aux Beam Vehicle Light

This item is copyable so you can use as many as you like at once. Setting up is easy but it is important to do things in the right order to be sure your lights will work the way you want them to. Here's how to get going:

1. Rez a light in-world from your inventory. (You can drag the object from inventory to the ground.)

2. Edit the object to move it to the position on your vehicle it will be saved in and open the "config" notecard in the object's contents.

3. Change the values of the settings to those you want on your light to adhere to. More on this topic follows.

4. Save the changes and wait for the "Loaded" confirmation to show up in a private message in chat.

5. Select the light *then* select your vehicle (shift-click to add objects to your selection). Be sure to select your vehicle last. This and the following steps are not required if you are using your light as standalone.

6. Click the Link button in the editor.

That's all there is to it! The config notecard allows you to set some key features of your light. When you edit the notecard it is important that you do not add any space characters or line breaks that may confuse the light when it reads your settings.

~~~
Here are the features you can set using the notecard:
Flood Light Switch (TRUE/FALSE) ~ Allow the lights on this channel to be turned on and off using the flood/fog lamp switch in your GVHUD-enabled vehicle.
Aux1 Switch (TRUE/FALSE) ~ Allow the lights on this channel to be turned on and off using the Aux 1 switch in your GVHUD-enabled vehicle.
Aux2 Switch (TRUE/FALSE) ~ Allow the lights on this channel to be turned on and off using the Aux 2 switch in your GVHUD-enabled vehicle.
Aux3 Switch (TRUE/FALSE) ~ Allow the lights on this channel to be turned on and off using the Aux 3 switch in your GVHUD-enabled vehicle.
Color (SL color vector) ~ set the color of the light beam and diffuser.
Intensity (0.0 - 1.0) ~ set the intensity (brightness) of the beam emitted by the light when it is turned on.
Radius (0.0 - 20.0) ~ set the range the beam will shine to when the light is turned on.
Falloff (0.0 - 2.0) ~ set how fast the light dims as it reaches the edge of it's range when the light is turned on.
FOV (0.0 - 3.0) ~ set how wide or narrow the beam of light is when emitted.
Focus (-20.0 - 20.0) ~ set how fuzzy (blurry) the beam edges project when the light is turned on.
Ambiance (0.0 - 1.0) ~ set how much shadow is cast by the light (lower values mean less light "leakage" around objects.
Glow (0.0 - 1.0) ~ set how much glow effect is visible on the diffuser when the light is turned on.
Channel (any integer) ~ sets the channel this light will respond to control messages on.
~~~

Usage tips:

As shown above you can set the lights to any channel you like. Any lights that are set to the same channel number will all respond to control messages that are sent on that channel. This allows you to have multiple sets of lights on your vehicle that will all respond at the same time without interfering with lights on another channel. This also allows you the option to assign Aux (or Flood/Fog) buttons to control your groups of lights by assigning both the channel and the Aux (or Flood/Fog) button in the same configuration notecard. Channels are (practically) unlimited but there are only three Aux buttons you can assign from the GVHUD and one Flood/Fog lamp switch on the dashboard that can be used. If you don't want these buttons to control any of the lights set the values for the assignments in the notecard to FALSE for all of them.

Please note that when you have linked the light to your vehicle you will not be able to set the light's settings using the config notecard again. Any changes you make to the config card after linking will be sent to ALL of the Aux Beam lights attached to your vehicle.

If you have any trouble, questions or comments, please drop Jeanette Doobie a notecard (and not an IM as those can cap and get lost easily). I fully support this product, but it is still up to you to use it properly. Let me know if something doesn't work the way it should. ALWAYS make and use a backup of your item! If you get "creative" and mess it up, that's on you. Although I support the item contained in this kit, I do not support any products sold by other merchants. You will need to contact the creator if you need support for those.

Very cool, thanks. Work also without the GVHUD just by clicking on them. Mine are on a What's.
