Secret Diary or journal - Mesh - Red version share notes with friends Version 2
Weimar! Presents;
Secret Diary - Mesh - Red version
*ABOUT THE OBJECT:
Dear diary...
Add your own notecards to this book to keep a diary or simply a handy inworld place to share notecards with friends.
This is the Secret version of the diary, I also sell one that can be 'read' by anyone.
But with this secret version YOU decide who can read your Diary, nobody but your trusted friends who you choose will be able to read the notecards you keep in this book.
This book enables you to store your notecards and share them with others in a clear, menu driven manner.
A nice way to share your personal thoughts, love letters, stories, links or general notes.
It can also just be used as a sort of mailbox, leaving it on your kitchen table with notes for your family.
And of course you don't even have to use it, it will look great just as a prop.
This is the MESH version, that means that it looks a lot better then the prim version and has a smaller land impact, but it only looks good for people with a up to date viewer.
*ABOUT ME:
I am a Dutch woman obsessed with history, in RL I am a researcher.
Europe in the first half of the 20th century, inspires me especially Germany during the Weimar Republic (1918-1933).
More below.
*SCALE:
Most avatars and sims in SL have a totally unrealistic scale.
I hate this.
My avatar is about 6ft, just like I am in RL, compared to most avatars in SL I look like a child.
I build a sim in a more realistic scale and compared to SL in general things here are small.
That means that the objects I make are made for realistic avatars, if they seem small to you this probably is because you are perhaps very big.
Now, here is a nice little extra thing you can do with this Mesh diary; you can customise it!
But please be careful, you only have one copy and I will not replace it every time you make a mistake.
You can replace the textures of the book and the pictures and photos sticking out the side.
To do this, zoom in as much as possible, then drag a texture from your inventor onto the side of the object you want to replace.
For instance, drag a photo of your loved one and drag it onto the photo of the lady sticking out the side of the book.
But be careful, if you accidently drag it onto the cover of the diary, it will replace that!
Any of my textures you replace on the diary, is gone for ever.
And you may end up with a very weird looking object!
*PRIMS/LAND IMPACT:
Land impact; 1 prim.
0.1 Download
0.5 Physics
0.8 Server
3053 Display
In short, they will only count as 1 prim.
*ABOUT MESH
If you make Mesh items bigger, they will usually start having a bigger land impact and cost you more prims.
The item should look good but from a certain distance it may look distorted.
To make sure you see mesh in SL at well as possible, you may need to change the settings of your viewer.
This generally isn't needed but if you think that mesh often looks a bit bad, you may try this;
-Click ctrl+D to add the 'advanced' tab to the options at the top of your screen.
-Click 'show debug settings'
-In the Debug Settings look for 'MeshMaxConcurrentRequests' and change the value to 128, this will not have an impact on how SL will work for you but it will make mesh look better.

Update on Review
I'm rewriting my review. After repetitive issues on trying to get the diary to recognize me as the owner. I contacted the creator Jo Yardley and she said this is how you get the issue fixed. The issue is that the name has to be exactly as it is registered by SL, which includes capital letters. In your case AuroraRoseAndromeda Resident should do the trick. I hope this helps anyone else who purchases the diary. I had tried all different ways to get it to recognize me, bu something as simple as spaces can go a long way. I still think buying an item shouldn't require the owner to get it to recognize that person. I can see if you want others too be, but as the person buying the item it should be automatic. That's just my thought. Especially with having such a difficult time getting the diary to work. As I had put my name as it was from SL but due to spaces that was the problem. So be aware that the spaces can mess you up if you are trying to register the item to yourself. I'm thrilled that the diary takes the whole notecard. All I had to do was drag the notecard from m inventory to the diary and it accepted it. Thanks again for the help Jo Yardley :)
I love this Diary AND Ms Yardley!!!
I had purchased both this Secret Diary and the not so secret one a while back for an avatar I don't use anymore. So I knew it was a great product and bought it for my current avatar. But I had a problem with the Secret Diary recognizing me as it's owner. I followed the instructions in the included notecard (or so I thought) but nothing seemed to work. So I sent Ms. Yardley an IM. That's when I also became an even bigger fan of the creator! It wasn't just because of how wonderful her products are. (I also bought the living room set in her store and love them!) I didn't really expect a quick reply, but that was exactly what I got! Right after I sent the IM she responded! BTW it turns out that I did NOT follow the directions as I had assumed that I had lol.
It was jsut ONE SMALL THING that prevented the diary from recognizing me as it's owner. 'Resident'. I was so frustrated when it wouldn't work, I did place Resident in it next to my name, but WITHOUT A SPACE. That was why it wasn't working for me. I had forgotten that we need to put a space before 'Resident'. Ms. Yardley reminded me and after 'slapping my forehead' I did that and it worked!
As wonderful as these diaries are, and her furniture and her other creations .. she's even more wonderful!!
