Slukebox (Slither Jukebox!) allows you to play your own music collection in Second Life, without the expense or overhead of setting up a streaming server.
The Slukebox player is free (please give them away!) you get a free account on the website to upload your tracks which will expire in seven days. After that, if you like using our product, then you have the option of subscribing using our Slukebox pay terminal (landmark supplied in box)
Just rez the free Slukebox on your parcel, after you create an account on our registration page (http://www.frickingnutz.com/slukebox/register.php) Now you are ready to start enjoying your music! No complicated set-up. All you need to do is use our web application to upload and organize your tracks, and set up playlists.
You can upload various file formats (wma, mp4, m4a, m4p, flac, mov), files will be converted into a format playable by your favourite viewer.
In-world, there is virtually no set up required at all. The Slukebox will contact our server and download your songs automatically. You can choose to play songs in order, or shuffle, and choose a playlist you have created using the web application.
There is also a HUD for controlling your music stream from anywhere on your sim.

Type 'search ' in open chat to play any tracks matching your search criteria from our database of over 18,000 tracks! Searches title, artist or year. Examples:
search 1982 (to play all songs from 1982)
search Power of love (search all music substring matching title/artist/genre/year)
search artist:Sade (more specific search for an artist only)
search album:Dark Horse (more specific search for an album only)
search genre:pop
Slukebox is ideal for private use, or you can use it for commercial purposes. You can even play your own advertising messages at your business.
The box itself is modify permission, so you can make it look however you want! Builders, if you want to put the script into your own media players please send me a message.

This works very well! easy to transfer the songs and then make a list of selections.
Very good I loved the system, rather than using the radios they have in common secondlife.

What a fantastic idea. Whats better than having your own music in SL with no commercial interruptions. Easy to use, great support. Very happy with this product. What a great idea. Have been recommending to friends.
This will fully deserve 5 stars once some bugs arr ironed out (i.e. some mp3's simply won't play owing to, I suspect, high bit rates and album art in tags) but this is the smoothest, most sensible user interface for ANY mp3 player I've tried in SL --- and I have tried many! Then too, the customer service and attention to detail is beyond anything I've experienced. That alone earns an ADDITIONAL bunch of stars. Keep your eye on this product and its creator --- great things are ahead!
This is a great product. There were a couple of kinks in it (it is in beta), but the creator ironed those out quickly and it is up and running very well on my land. I would recommend this product not only because of the product itself, but the customer service has been excellent.
