Slukebox (Slither Jukebox!) allows you to play your own music collection in Second Life, without the expense or overhead of setting up a streaming server.
Typically a streaming server can cost from US$15 a month for only a 25Kbps bandwidth. Using a Slukebox, bitrate is only limited by the quality of the mp3 file you upload. And there is no limit of the number of listeners. This could cost hundreds of dollars per month to achieve this using a Shoutcast streaming server.
Just rez the free Slukebox In-World on your parcel, and create an account on the registration page. Now you are ready to start enjoying your music! No complicated set-up. All you need to do is use our web application to upload and organise your tracks, and set up playlists.
The Slukebox player is free (give them away if you please!) you get a free account on the website to upload your tracks which will expire in two days. After that, if you like using our product, then you have the option of subscribing using our in-world Slukebox pay terminal.
Prices are 100L for one month, 500L for six months, or 1000L for lifetime usage.
In-world, there is virtually no set up required at all. The Slukebox will contact our server and download your songs automatically. You can choose to play songs in order, or shuffle, and choose a playlist you have created using the web application.
There is also a HUD for controlling your music stream from anywhere on your sim.

Type 'search ' in open chat to play any tracks matching your search criteria. Searches title, artist or year. e.g. 'search 1982' to play all songs from 1982.
Slukebox is ideal for private use, or you can use it for commercial purposes. You can even play your own advertising messages at your business.

Fantastic Product But Don't Buy!
Why not buy such a great product? Well, it's free to try for a week or so. And then you have to pay. And we want to pay! Alas, that's the problem. Currently, there is no terminal in SL to pay your fees. Yep. The sites are gone. So, you upload your music to their website. All works fantastically. Then... poof! It stops after a week or so, and there is no way to pay for continued service. How very sad. We spent hours uploading music to their website. It streamed into SL flawlessly. But then it broke. Don't buy unless you can find a terminal to pay at.

Was a great player back in the day.. Paid for unlimited then it just went away. Greed took over and now the player does not work. .You don't take unlimited away and then expect to a person to purchase again for a lower quality service. Not pleased. SCAM
Invaluable tool
If you want to choose exactly what music to enjoy while in-world, this is by far your best option. It works immediately, almost too simple to be true, but it's real and seriously inexpensive. And Snake is your best resource for any possible trouble. I can't thank him enough for his kindness, speed and attention in answering every question and solving every issue.

Absolute must!
I've been using it on all my sims and/or parcels, just can't imagine my SL without it. Love to be able to create any playlist I want by uploading my own music. I think music totally sets the right mood on a sim and this is the cheapest and most efficent way I have found to do that in SL. And Snake is just a great guy to talk to if there's any problem and you need help. Thanks man!
