This script has been specially crafted to be as smooth as possible with various configurable options such as Speed/Cycle Rate/Range of Motion.
You won't have to worry how your creation is rotated either. This script has been made to work with all creations. However if your build does rotate incorrectly, simply rotate the main pivot point of your swing until the rotation is correct, after that initial step is taken care of you don't need to worry about anything else.
To change the settings of the swing. Open the script. You will be presented with the following...

integer speed = 2;
integer distance_of_motion = 18;
// SETTINGS //
By tweaking each settings, the swing will have a different effect. The default settings are best suited for a steady swing, that isn't too aggressive.

Does not Swing
The item you put this script in will ROCK back and forth. It will not SWING back and forth. There is no where in the script to set the rotation in such a way that you can change from ROCK to SWING. So if you are using this in an actual swing the result will be rocking motion not swinging back and forth like a pendulum motion.
