This aircraft and its accessories have been fully constructed by the author of this note. No copying or piracy of 3D object is used in their manufacture. They were made from drawings , photos , videos and other documents for bringing more realism possible , within the constraints of their use in SL .
Percival Gull Vega is an Australian aircraft which was built between 1935 and 1939, motorized by the Gipsy Six engine from De Havilland. This model has been replicated in SL at the request of a TBM client.
The display of Percival on the screen has been optimized for a level of detail (LOD) "2", so it is perfectly visible from afar with a computer set low graphics performance. The shapes do not "break" significantly at close range.
It does not takeoff on few meters only, it require power and distance.
It can fall out of fuel (switchable function) and the tank can be filled with the fuel pump provided or with any other compatible TBM pumps.
It is scripted so as to make it less dependent on the basic behavior of the "engine" that is usually found in vehicular scripts.
- The engine can be accelerated during taxiing, even at full throttle. The Percival do not takeoff when the minimum takeoff speed is not reached.
- It stall in flight and falls if the speed is too low (switchable function)
- It flies like a glider when motor to 0% or cut due to run out of fuel, with loss of altitude of course.
Four seats for 1 pilot and 3 passengers. The input and output of the pilot is animated.
The doors can be open and closed, like the hatches of the engine cover.
Crash effect (noise, smoke, engine cut, bent propeller) in case of impact on the nose, with "reset" command for repair it.
Automatic update system triggered when it rez on the Ground.
Doppler sound effects improved by script.
The engine bench work. It is usable by all residents.
The plane is "modif" (except scripts), in particular the textures whose templates are provided in 2048x2048 PSD format.

For example, the motor can be detached and presented on a table or mounted on a test bench in a mechanical workshop but will in any case never to fit another vehicle. Absolutely crappy
The quality is not comparable with other TBM aircraft such as the Chronos. You have to press the arrow keys (up-key) permanently. Otherwise the plane goes into a nose dive and crashes. Even, if you enable the stall-System! One star is one star too much for the voting of this product! And 1150,- $ are 1150,-$ too much!

without resize is impossible to stay in the plane without having your head out of the cockpit or feet out of the plane. another point is the lack of reactivity short enough in the take-off. I can understand the reality, or try to replicate the contactor friction of the plane, but finish the runway and have a crash, it seems excessive.
so fun to fly!
I've had this plane for a bit of time now...and all I can say is I love it! I did crash the first time up cuz my angle of ascent was too steep, but after that no issues. For me the plane flies level - also the HUD and things stay attached. so much fun, for such a little price. If you like older style planes grab this one, you won't be sorry.
Very Disappointing
For some reason I don't understand, a lot of SL airplanes won't fly level: the nose keeps dropping. Anyone who has flown in first life knows that this is NOT realistic. Any airplane that can't be trimmed for level flight needs repair.
That being said, this airplane is about the most extreme example I have ever flown. It WILL NOT fly level. Very disappointing.
Beautiful model, but flight scripting is flawed.
bunny Fride has done a wonderful job with the modelling on this aircraft, and was the entire reason I bought it when I had the cash to spare. The extras that you receive, as well as the sheer detail on the model of the aircraft show that a lot of love and attention went into the creation of the look of this aircraft.
However, the flight scripting does not do the vehicle justice. Unfortunately, there is a lot to be desired with this flawed scripting, and gives the aircraft an attitude that is undesireable. Heavy to lift off of the runway and unruly in flight, it tends to want to nose-dive at all but the highest of speeds. Roll-rate is very quick, akin to fighter aircraft, and unless the throttle is at 50% or below, it does not auto-level, which makes flying fiddly and quirky to the point of being agitating, as the aircraft does not want to fly level at anything below 80-90% throttle.
Do not buy this aircraft if you want something that you'll love cruising effortlessly and slowly in over the scenery. It's definitely tailored towards a race-style audience. Not my bag, as this aircraft often makes sim crossings, at the speed you're forced to take, very glitchy. Racing isn't particularly fun when the aircraft can't make a crossing with you.
Overall, I love the modelling and the detail. It's a wonderful piece of art, but I will not be flying it very often at all due to the flight scripting.
Nostalgia at its best.
Superb aircraft, stacked with aviation nostalgia. This era of propeller aeroplanes is my favourite, of which there are so few in Second Life. Excellent value, with realistic everything!. Hopefully, see some more classics like the Gull in the future. Well done, to those involved in the creation and building of it.
