Vitruvian Shapes are for discerning SL users who are looking for both an attractive shape as well as a more reasonably sized avatar to get the most out of their SL experience.

All Vitruvian Shapes are marked with their correct SL height, so they may be smaller than you are used to as most SL avatars are around 7-8' tall.
