The fire has three states accessed through touching the lower ashes.
-On -> Full roaring fire
-Embers -> Glowing embers perfect for cooking over
-Off -> Doused fire with just ashen logs
Fires are fully texture animated and sound scripted, using various material options to bring them to life within SL.
Fireplace Fire sits at 2 prim at its unpacked size. the land impact can change upon stretching and altering the mesh size.

Great (but I wish I could lose the grate)
If you already have a fireplace made by C&C, this is that same fire, here sold as a standalone purchase. I can't figure out how to leave comments on other reviews, but this fire is unique in that you can edit and resize it without breaking anything! So go ahead and try stretching it out; it'll fit perfectly in your fireplace no matter what.
Anyway, if you can unlink and detach the crappy fire that came with your house's fireplace, do, and put this one in. Ahh, SO much better. Simple touch controls allow you to have a cold fireplace, embers, or a full blaze! It looks and sounds awesome -- very cozy. A gentle looping "embers" animation gives both the logs and coals a lovely, reassuring glow. The fire itself is pretty and even a bit "videogamey," like you'd find in a tavern.
One teensy thing for prospective buyers to note is, the metal grate is part of the mesh -- "One With the Logs," if you will. Which is awesome and ideal, unless you use your own grate for some reason (and I actually did, so a menu dialog with a "show/hide grate" option would've made this perfect for me). (Note that a "grate" is the iron thing that cradles the logs; a fireplace screen is something else.)
I love everything by C&C and this is no different! Realistic and well made.
Excellent looking Fire!
I got a fireplace that really worked well in my home. The problem was the fire in it was really bad looking. I found this and replaced it and it looks fantastic.

The pictures do not do this set the justice it deserves. The flames are perfect the animated textures life like. As for size, it is resizable . It is perfect for both inside and outside fireplaces. Awesome work!
