This is my port of a LSL1 script that runs a slideshow that was presumably used to try and get people to invest into Second Life back in the times of when it was still called Linden World.
I have included both the LSL1 sample script and my port of it in this.
I would presume that the slideshow prim it's self would be facing a wall, as to mimic a projector, or perhaps maybe a presentation stand. As a result, the back of the prim is used to preload the next slide. So to avoid confusion, I built a small frame around it. This results in 3 land impact instead of 1.
I do want to make this perfectly clear though:
* I did NOT make the slides, nor am I employed by Linden Lab. I am merely preserving history for those who wish to observe it.
* I did however port the script. You may look at, tinker, or even re-use the script as you please.
* The LSL1 script was publicly released back on mainland, however it's been so long ago since I got this script that I forget where it is. If I ever find it again, I'll put a landmark in the listing as well. I assume that it was near the Linden Lab HQ.
Thank you for this relic of the past
In its ported form, this slide show has taught me quite a bit of SL history. I never knew they were targeting EverQuest players - I was one at the time, it's a wonder I didn't hear about SL (or Linden World at the time) until several years later.
