Before I explain myself:
~ I GUARANTEE your FPS will take a hit. Select Pose>All Stop if you are experiencing too much lag. Use the Pose menu to manually control the animations.
~ This is not rigged mesh.
~ This is not animesh.
~ This will not animate your avatar or anyone else's avatar.
~ This uses the same UV maps as the upcoming Tentacle v4 product.
~ Play with the DEMO at the kiosk in world. It is loaded in Vendor #1.

NOW, then...

Snap evolved from my Tentacle v4 project. I wanted something a more lively.
So I linked everything together, attached it to my avatar, and went a little crazy.
4 Tentacles will wave and snap.

57 Li at default size for the main Snap.
This product was intended to be worn. It defaults as a Spine Attachment.
It will function rezzed.
I have included a couple 8-9 Li, extra animated props with lower Li for you to use as decor, plus a 2 Li Snapper prop.

Script are NOT modifiable / Mesh IS modifiable

~~~~ INSTRUCTIONS

~ Add or Wear. The Menu will message you when it is ready, "Resuming animation. Touch for Menu."
~ You may attach anywhere, but it defaults to the Spine attachment point.
~ Position by right clicking and selecting Edit to open the SL Edit window. It is NOT rigged mesh.
~ If you wish to resize, use the Touch Activated menu or open the SL Edit window, select Stretch Both Sides, then Stretch.
~ Touch at any time to access the menu.

~~~~ OWNER MENU

~ Stab
Instruct both the outer tentacles to stretch forward and stab directly in front of you.

~ Snap
Instruct both the inner tentacles to stretch forward and snap directly in front of you.

~ Both
Stab and Snap at the same time.

~ Pose
Perform many functions, including selecting animation loops, multiple poses and animations to use in a few combinations.
Try selecting Stab Loop, then Stab Pose R, for example.

~ Pose > Resume
Resume the normal default animation loop.

~ Pose > All Stop
Freeze the tentacles in their starting positions.

~ Options > Resize
Resize the entire object

~ Options > Color
Change the textures.
There are 4 options. You may also modify the colors through the SL Edit window.

~ Options > Help
Receive a helpful copy of this notecard.

~ Close Menu:
Close the menu
The menu will time out in 30 seconds, anyway.

~ Main Menu:
Return to the main menu

~ Options > Reset Script:
Reset all scripts (Just in case SL gets weird...)

~~~~ NOTES: BEFORE MODIFYING

~ Unlinking its parts may cause it to malfunction. It depends on what you link/unlink. For example, if you remove the Wires prim, it will not affect anything, but if you remove a key tentacle in the animation sequence, it will. The code does not depend on Link Numbers; it seeks out the child prims' names.

~ Renaming child prims will cause it to malfunction. Renaming the root prim is fine.

~ The linked prim Descriptions are set to be used in combination with Tentacle v4 texture scripts.

~ This is composed entirely of mesh and textures made by me and was programmed by me. It uses specular maps and no textures greater than 1024x1024. Texture maps are not included.

~ This was not intended to be rezzed on land. So I prioritized appearance over land impact. Details should be visible at a fair distance. Please view the DEMO to ensure this will suit your needs.
