Let it show your beautiful ads/pictures and leave useful messages for your visitors using the elegant message system. Just a simple touch and you leave a holographic note on the animated screen, telling your visitors the latest news, giving them a map URL or just a few warm welcoming words.
Thanks to this easy to use system, your visitors will be able to leave you a note as well! Great for getting user feedback, or to foster community interaction between your visitors.
All messages can be deleted easily, by you or anyone else, as a way to let your community moderate itself to some degree, making it easier for you! (everything will be notified, so there is always accountability!)
Show off your beautiful sim advertisements and any other pictures with the slide show function, which will add that important fizzy holographic glow to your land that shouldn't be missing in any sci-fi and future themed scene.
Simply drop your pictures into the base prim, and it will automatically start cycling through them!
Features:

Message board function:
- touch anywhere on the screen to leave a message
- touch your own message to edit or delete it
- change the title (max six characters, some special chars are supported)
- change message (maximum 250 characters)
- pasting profile links and map SLurls into a message is supported
- change color of the message
- touch any other message to look at it or delete it
- blacklist feature to block abusers from adding messages
- anyone can delete anyone else's message (community moderation! less work for the owner)
- however, the message author will be notified via IM, saying who deleted their message, to prevent abuse of the deletion system
- nobody can delete the object's owner's messages, except the owner them-self
- owner can wipe all messages, or wipe all by a specific user (this will not notify the people who wrote the messages)
- can turn the messaging feature off completely by setting '*msgboard = on" to "off"
Display any images you like on the screen:
- CTRL + drop textures from your inventory into the bottom base prim (the one named "HoloScreenControl", NOT the root prim)
- all textures need to be full-perm!
- (optional): for best look, textures can have their size or aspect ratio in their name:
- example: "mytexture_16x9" for a texture that's 16:9 aspect ratio
- or: "mytexture_1920x1080" if you know the original resolution
- this will prevent the images from looking stretched!
- configure by editing notecard names:
*interval = 300 (time between picture changes in seconds, default: 300)
*random = yes (whether or not the slide show is random, default: yes)
Change colors:
- owner simply touches the base prim at the bottom to change the light colors via menu
Blacklist feature:
- open the notecard "*blacklist" in the root prim
- one partial or full name or display name per line (e.g. "testuser abcd")
- can match partial names and display names! (e.g. "jessi" will match "Jessicatz Fairymeadow")

- requires the link permission to be granted when rezzed
- needs offline build rights, one of these is required:
- be the owner of the land
- OR enable Land > Options > Build: Everyone
- OR set object group to land group (but NOT deed!) AND enable Land > Options > Build: Group

Absolutely Superb!
Ok, so I don't have a futuristic or sci-fi place but I have a Mall and it still looks the part in the atrium.
I love the texturing and uniqueness of the thing. Just having fun adding little messages - and waiting for visitors to do the same.
Just a couple of observations from me. Sometimes a couple of the messages will overlap - but I don't know if that was just me and don't know if it was probably due to where I clicked, don't know if it has any bearing on that, to be honest? But I solved that by selecting the message and moving it up a tad.
I know there is a limit on just 6 letters for the title but most times the titles I'd like are longer so have to think of something else which probably doesn't reflect the actual message. Would love the cap to be 8 - just wondered if this could maybe be an option on later versions?
On the whole, I am very happy with it and just nitpicking really.

My God! Its full of Messages!
This is one of the really great ones out there, it's rare to have something like this on SL so simple and working with smooth functions, I mean , it's really cool, you can change the colors of the bg of the msgs and edit ones that might be abrasive . Pay no attention to non believers.

This is really a little marvel of SL engineering. Has to be the one true rez-n-forget message board out there. Even allows for public-self-moderation. Add the picture show and it is a perfect match for your futurist build.
Better than a greeter!
While I understand the point of greeter bots, it does get annoying to enter a place, triggering one and it giving you it's programmed message. Takes away from the immersion. With this, you can set a greeting and whatever else you like and it's only a simple click away for a visitor! Visitors can even leave messages on it for anyone to see. :D If this needed anything to be even better is a help button so people that touch it will know what it's for and how to use it. Could stand to keep the dialog active for longer when putting a message in as more often than not, there isn't enough time to type in a long message. Still earns five stars in my book as it is! ^_^
