'05 CLASS TRANSPORT INSTRUCTIONS
===============
The '05 Class Transport, known among pilots as the "Sandfly", is a mid-sized, long-range cargo hauler designed to carry a crew of up to 4, though more may share the cabins if they rotate crew duties in shifts. Unlike the larger '04 Class Transport (with which it shares some basic similarities), the Sandfly is not a passenger ship, and the crew quarters are compact and, for the small crew, fairly spacious, with a large lounge and facilities on the third deck, and cabins on the second. This is a cargo hauler, and the largest space in the ship is the hold.
HOW TO USE IT
==========
Firstly, you will need some space to rezz it. The Sandfly is a big ship, though it only weighs in a a comfortable 260 prims. Make sure you have the permission to rez a big spaceship and that the owner won't be annoyed with you and run you out of town.
When rezzed, click on the main hatch at the front of the hold to open the ramp and get inside. The hold is the first port of call. In the floor is an airlock that allows for disposal of spoiled cargo without needing to depressurize the hold. The hold can be completely depressurised if needs be; the crew compartments are sealed behind bulkheads. The hold will need to be repressurised, however, to access engineering at the aft of the ship, just through the hold on the first level.
Up the stairs, and on the second deck you will find a bulkhead door that takes you to the cabins and on through another two bulkhead doors to the cockpit, where the pilot, copilot, engineer and navigator may operate the ship from. This is where the magic happens.
To fly the ship, simply sit in the pilot seat (or right click anywhere in the head area of the ship and choose 'sit' from the pie menu). The engines will flare up automatically. You can access the following chat commands whilst you are sitting piloting the ship;
g - raise and lower landing gear
camlock - pan around the ship when landing or docking to get the best view of the maneuver and type this to lock the camera into position.
camunlock - unlocks the camlock
lock - locks the ship to owner only status. Nobody else may operate the bay airlock or the main hatch, nor fly the ship.
group - group access - anyone wearing the same group tag as the ship may fly it or access it
unlock - anybody can pilot or access the ship. Be very careful not to leave it like this, unless you want to find the front end buried halfway into the ground somewhere three sims away...
Whilst sitting in the cockpit, you will also notice the console has an array of holographic HUD displays to let you know what bits do what. The Flat / Acro button switches between flat hover mode, where the ship turns left and right, jinks left and right with shift (or in mouselook) and goes up and down when you use Page Up or Page Down. Acro mode is more fun, however, and lets you maneuver the ship through 360 degrees and fly nose first up or down a sim. If you panic or get confused, hit the 'Level ship' button to return it to completely level settings.
The Core Output screen lets you control the engine core. You can turn it on or off (the ship won't fly without the core switched on, and emergency lighting comes on), set the output, which varies the speed, activate the stardrive for a big boost in speed, and you can overdrive it to get extra speed, but doing so only gives you about 2 minutes before the core burns out. In reality you can just switch it back on, but it's there so you can RP having to fix it - or call for help.
The Nav screen triggers your FTL jump drive. click on it to activate the navicomp, and say the co-ordinates you wish to jump to (with careful planning you can jump across multiple sim borders in one jump - just make sure your ship will fit into the sim you are jumping into! And be warned, this is a good way to break your ship...), then confirm these co-ords by saying yes, or decline by saying no.
The copilot gets a communicator that can talk to any other Zapedzki Shipyards comms equipped ship in the sim - click to talk, say your piece and wait for a reply.

An Excellent Ship
Clearly inspired by the Firefly class, this is a gorgeous, unique build with a brilliant flight system. There was a minor glitch with the scene rezzer, which the creator was very helpful in fixing (and he said it will be fixed in the next upgrade). All in all, I'd recommend this (and any of his other ships, as some friends have them) to anyone.
