This is one of several sacred mirrors (kagami) from the Arashiryuu Yashiro (shrine, sacred yard). Although this is not the storm mirror itself nor the Yayoi/Joman era inspired Mirror that hangs in the main shrine sukiya it is hoped that this helps you in your meditations and worship. This "mirror" is more like a shield in design. It differs vastly from the traditional kagami and the less often seen Eight Petaled kagami of Amaterasu. If one owned this in real life it would have to be kept highly polished if it were to serve as a "regular" mirror. It is to be remembered that the original mirrors are not as reflective as the mirrors that we are blessed to own in this era of history. It is intended to remind the gazer of the two sides of everything and everyone, each aramitama and nigimitama. The kami have these just as do we humans.
