[:AT:] Spot Light Version 1.0
A Simple Spotlight, for scifi, modern and industrial scenes, with a powerful API and configurator system behind it!
This light comes with a seperate mount piece, the light can be rotated from this indepedently with link-edit!
The best method for setting this up is to rez the Spotlight, rotate it and position it so the mount is up against the surface how you'd like it, then you use edit linked parts, select the light, and rotate it where you want to point it!
The mounting piece can be freely unlinked if you dont need it!
This light works with ATLS Lighting System, it is a very versatile and customisable system.
The API for this is included, in a seperate notecard.
but first, the simple things!
*Setting lights up with switches*
****************************
Rez as many lights you like, set their description to anything as long as its same throughout the lights, this identifies them in a group.
Rez as many light switches you like also, and set their description to what you used on the lights.
With the descriptions, you mark a group of lights under the same id, you can make as many id groups as you like, with as many switches and lights in each group.
You can use the ATLS Configurator hud to configure groups of lights together
*How to use the ATLS Configurator!*
*******************************
Wear the HUD, click the box next to Light ID, enter the description you set for your lights and switches!
Now you are ready to manipulate these sets of lights!
The HUD is mostly for changing self explainatory light parameters, if you arent familiar with them heres a quick run-down
Light SRC Color: The color of the light emitted
Light Face On Color / Off Color: The color of the texture faces of the light emitting part of the fixtures
Light Intensity: The intensity of the light source. Range 1.0 - 0.0
Light Radius: The radius of the light emission in meters, this is how far the light will reach from the source. Range 0.0 - 20.0
Light Falloff: The intensity of the fall-off when the light's max range is close. Range 0.0 - 2.0
Glow: The ammount of glow on the texture faces of the light emitting part of the fixtures. Range 0.0 - 1.0
Still confused? Just toy around with these values and see how your light's behavior changes!
Also dont forget to turn on the light before messing around so you can see the changes, click the power toggle switch on the bottom of the HUD
There are two other toggle switches next to the power switch
Effects: Toggles the visual effects on the light fixture (color and glow)
Flicker On: Toggles wether or not to flicker the light when it turns on (useful for fluorescent-like effects)
The Reset Light button will reset the light scripts, and restores all settings to default.
If you want to configure another light, just click the Light ID box again, and type in a different description!
If you want to configure one particular light, or a certain group of lights within a defined description group, you'll have to change their descriptions to something else temporarily, then configure them.
When you are finished with that, you can change the description of these lights back to what it was.
The changes you have done will be retained, after you have changed the descriptions.
Now you have specially tuned lights with different settings still turning on with the same switches!
The ATLS Configurator also uses the ATLS API explained in the API notecard.
Happy thinkering!
