This is a rezzable prim water mesh that you can place wherever you need water that isnt low enough to be region-water
This model looks best with Materials, make sure your viewer supports Materials, and has Advanced Lighting Model enabled (or the graphics slider set above 'High')
The scripts inside the model allow you to swim in it with the free AT Swimmer HUD.
IMPORTANT:
THE AT SWIMMER HUD IS NOT INCLUDED but you can easily get it on the Aluveaux Technologies Marketplace store!
or SCROLL DOWN TO THE RELATED ITEMS SECTION
The water has a mesh grid bellow the surface for a volumetric fog effect, this is intentionally not so dense, otherwise it would be laggy on the rendering (SL doesnt like alpha blending much, it is why particles can lag too)
There is a version included with the volumetric fog effect properly hidden with alpha masking, so it does not affect performance. Use this version if you wish to not have underwater effects
Basic Usage:
Rez water
Reposition as needed
You can rotate it only on Z axis, as the swimmer hud detection only works by bounding box checks (it ignores rotation on X and Y (pitch and yaw))
Modifying:
You can resize the water on any axis
You can recolor it to suit your needs
You can retexture it even
You can also change the texture repeats of it on the texture tab like any prim
Advanced customization:
When resizing the water, the texture will stretch, including the normal and specular (bump and shine)
To combat this, you can change the texture repeats as you would on a normal prim, if you use an unequal size like something that isn't a square, (for example 4 by 6) then you need to change the texture repeats different numbers on H and V as you would with a normal prim. However! the bottom two planes of water has swapped H and V so swap these values on those faces
tl;dr:
The water model has 4 planes on top, each texture animated to move into a unique direction, because of this the bottom two faces are rotated by the model's UV map, so you need to swap the texture repeat values (H and V) for those faces.
You can resize the texture on 5th face which is the volumetric effect, however you must always use the same H and V values for these, or else it wont look right on every face.
