A classic Indo-Persian design of allover arabesques with sickle palmettes in soft golds and burgundy unfolds gracefully across the abrashed green and cocoa ground of this sumptuous antique Amtritsar. In contrast to the grand sweeping scale of the field, the borders are narrow and understated, focusing all attention on the rich design at the center. The drawing is fluid and precise in the classic tradition of Persian and Indian carpets.
Please note the original dimensions of this rug. Although supplied as modifiable, over stretching may distort the pattern. Also note that as a representation of a handmade product it may have less than perfect linage. This part of the beauty of such a rug.
