Thank you for your interest in the Merlin Machines Angara class Runabout. I have a passion for making role play experiences as fulfilling and immersive as can be using the technology allowed us by Second Life's building and scripting features. This runabout ship should give one a complete, usable set for science fiction role play without having to purchase multiple starship room sets such as a bridge, engineering, sickbay, etc.

This large, Role play ready ship seats 8 and has both physical and non-physical flight modes, highly detailed flight deck, working transporter, and entry ramp or docking collar on either side of the ship.

It also includes 4 different mission modules that will rez when you enter the back area of the ship as well as a template so you can create your own custom sets.

It includes 3 different kinds of shields, 4 different hull configurations, and a warp speed effect. There are particle effects for weapons and a "HIT" button that will shake the ship as if it has been struck by weapons fire complete with authentic sounds.

The ship is not fast because it was created for role play rather than dog-fight combat but it does have 2 "gears" so to speak for fine positioning or "reasonable" speed for approach to external sets. It also includes a "jump drive" that will jump the ship to any spot within a region (under an altitude of 4000m, of course) so you can initiate the warp speed effect, set the jump coordinates, jump the ship, then "come out of warp" somewhere else in the region for a more authentic warp travel experience.

One of my favorite features is the "Auto-Dock" sequence. By creating a dock in a space station or shuttle bay set using a hollow cylinder and an included script, you can have your runabout locate a docking port, maneuver and rotate precisely into position and extend the docking collar for a perfect match all while you hang on for the ride.

The ship has a number of features specifically designed to enhance the role play experience such as a replicator with a "beam-in" effect, a floor access hatch to the warp core chamber, and a character "voice" comm HUD that will put a character's picture on the comm screen when they talk so you can see the captain of the other ship that you talk to. The LCARS images on many of the screens of the flight deck can be changed by menu and new textures can be added so, for example you can put up pictures of your space station build or even put pictures of your crew on the comm screen when you talk to them.

There is also a "stall" feature so that the ship will "fall" to the ground, and possibly even wind up in an upside down "crash" position so you may have to walk across the ceiling to get to the external hatch to get out. Think of the wonderful possibilities for adventure... or at least mayhem!

Many of the aspects of the ship can be modified to your customized requirements including external structures or even the name of the ship by editing and renaming 3 textures included in the contents folder.
