Aphasia is a great tool, makes the one that's locked with it feel very helpless, and if configured properly will make life deliciously hard.
It comes with a price (apart the obvious L$), which is having to learn how to properly configure and tweak it.
There are a couple of things that really irk me (hence the 4 stars):
- You hear twice the items you are wearing (e.g. if you have a gesture HUD you will hear the aphasia version AND the object itself). This is due to the fact that in RLV an avatar can somehow always hear objects it's wearing. Should be a very simple tweak to fix t hat.
- Renaming the object with an empty string and emoting everything. I know many developers do this to avoid spoofing, but I think the user should be left with the choice if enabling this or not. This comes with a problem of compatibility with other hearing devices, if I am wearing aphasia and someone else is using another device, they will hear everything I say because it's basically an emote. Moreover, it's annoying to be unable to clearly distinguish the name of the talker and the phrase, as it's all a single object talk line.
- The dictionary talk is very well made, but I do think that no matter how the bimbify settings are, everyone with the same dictionary should be able to fully understand the others, after all, even if they are dumb, they are talking the same language.
I like this!!!
I got this for my SL wife, It works very well. It IS a learning curve, but it's worth it. I had an issue, and Morri replied. So there is customer support. That's a great thing with a product like this. Thanks Morri!!!
A bit of a learning curve, but once you've got it figured out, it's great.
>>: Re-wrote this a bit because the phrasing was a little harsh the first time around. x)
From general kink use to simulating curses in roleplay, this RLV toy is a ton of fun and has the potential to make engagements with others in BDSM scenes and roleplay alike more entertaining. I appreciate the hell out of how customizable it is, and how it doesn't overcomplicate itself with pointless features. The ability to use commands to deafen and undeafen, and take and give speech, is a very fluid way to incorporate it into your scenes.
If I could request only one update, it would be the ability for the submissive to activate a 'Debug Mode' that allows them to fix settings, rather than being denied access to everything once you set an owner. Certain things only work properly when an owner is set - like whitelist - and it automatically locks the submissive out of all buttons. This is understandable from a play perspective but can pose a little bit of a hurdle if you run into some stumbling blocks like I did while having to muck through notecards and figure out where you messed up.
Over-all, I'm super happy with the core functions of this HUD, and it's honestly enhanced a lot of even my general interactions. People find it fun to see what they can slip past me, or what I catch. Friends have been inquiring about the HUD and how it functions. It's even proven to be a pretty handy tool for going to clubs when my ADHD can make socializing overwhelming.
Scupper mah tongue!
A lter their vocabulary
P ersuade their tongue
H one their hearing
A cquisition their persona
S elect the length of their wordage
I mpact how they act and behave
A llow them to speak and then silence them!
This device has depth. You can pick up the basics of it quite easily (and have fun with it) but if you spend some more time and effort you can tap in to some true devious control for your submissive!*
*always read the instructions (also the creator is very helpful despite being an elf)
IQ is overrated.
Best way to get your brains scrambled by a rlv toy that involves mind control fetishes, you want to be really dumb? You want to be really that bimbo you see on the street that looks like they have two braincells rubbing together, but you are actually mistaken?
This is it.
Amazing! Can't live without it!
Hands down the best speech and hearing control I've encountered in all my time on SL! It was somewhat confusing for my caveman brain to figure out at first, but with the super helpful support of others Aphasia users and the creator themselves, I was finally able to live my best life as a puppy. ♥☻
