The "Auguste" service is composed of replicas after the Viennese Sachsen-Teschen Service, one of the most lavish silver services surviving from the late 18eme century.
Commissioned by the Duke and Duchesse of Teschen (Queen Marie Antoinette's sister) the design, (being the goldsmith Ignaz Joseph Würth) is purely neoclassical style, decorated with fluttered and geek friezes, antique dolphins, berries, rams heads, etc
The largest pieces of this set are the three large tureens, two oval, and a third round, pinnacle of fine goldsmithing, which are dedicated to the recollection of food provided by nature, depicted by two pairs of ancient dolphins with intertwined tails supporting the urns crowned with trophies with fish, crabs, seaweed, cauliflowers, mushrooms, asparagus, and other ingredients appreciated culinary of the time.
But also the wine coolers, decorated with Nemean lions heads, in reference to the insulating qualities of the pelts, and musical instruments. Or perhaps the ewers, or the set of candlesticks, with a coiled snake and rams' heads holding the arms... All in all the "Auguste" silver service represents not only the highest sophistication when it comes to celebrating a banquet but also a statement of refinement your guests won't overlook.
The second part of the "Auguste" service here is composed of the following pieces;
Two different types of oval tureens
A round tureen
An oval and Round presentation tray
Wine coolers (with and without interactive bottle)
A silver ewer
A double salt-cellar
A single salt-cellar
A 3-arms candelabra
a candlestick
