A fine console desserte, replica of the one made by the pre-eminent French master cabinetmaker Adam Weisweiler in the second half of the 18th Century. The center plaque is made of fine Wedgwood porcelain. The usage of such porcelain from Staffordshire is common in Weisweiler's works, especially the typical blue porcelain with white decor. Another characteristic of Weisweiler's works were Japanese lacquer panels, very rare and sought after in courts; for this reason, he was widely appreciated not only in France, but in England as well (he even provided furniture for the Prince Regent through Dominique Daguerre).
Louis XVI Style, oak, mahogany, cedar, gilded bronze, porcelain, grey-veined white marble. 100% Mesh.
