Thanks for your interest in the Avondale Almost Medieval Instep Strap Shoe!
This is the DEMO version!

The shoes are unrigged mesh. They are provided with modify and copy permissions so that you can adjust the shoe to your needs.

An alpha mask for your feet is included, but if you are wearing a mesh body you will have best results if you use your body HUD to alpha out your feet.

Six sock colors are provided through an easy-to-use HUD.

For those interested in period costume details:

These plain dark shoes are suitable for most female costume impressions of the late Medieval to Renaissance period (including Tudor England). See Pieter Bruegel the Elder - "The Peasant Dance" for a good look at a typical woman's shoe of the period. The lady running in from the right has her left foot placed so we can see it quite well.

My Almost Medieval Shoe is obviously a modern style, but I chose it for my medieval/renaissance clothing line because it presents the correct square-toe profile for the period. The instep strap is also correct, although theirs would tie or buckle across a wider top opening.

Medieval ladies would most likely wear above-the-knee socks with garters tied at the knee, but that would not look right with Second Life long skirts. When our legs come out of our skirts in some positions, we don't want a different texture appearing against the skirt fabric. That's why we have glitch pants.

I hope you will find these the perfect accessory for your period costume impressions.
